Hello ladies.
I'm glad to see so many of doing great. I am sorry for the ones who took 3 steps forward and 5 steps backward. Hang in there girls. I have yet to drive. My DH asked me this am...."when are you going to get back in the driver's seat?" Not sure yet...hmm. I think I over did it on Fri. & Sat. My step sons live in TN and I drove with my DH on Fri. to get them. I-65 has sooooo many potholes and bumps...jeez. I went back to TN (back on I-65) on Sat. for sons football game, dinner and a few other errands. I was pooped last night....in bed at 8PM. (unlike me) I'm also having a sneezing issue....dumb allergies. Why does sneezing have to be so dog-gone painful? For those of you "flashing" a friend of mine sent me "HOT FLASH SPRAY", I thought it was a joke at first....but that stuff really works. She bought it a health food store. It is specially formulated by Rose Kalajian, a herbalist. I am on Premarin and seem to "flash" at night....so I get up and take a few sprays....it's been a life saver. Anyone interested here is the website: Please do not link to commercial websites. Best of luck! I to go to the Dr. on 9/11. Does anyone still have a lot of "numbness"? I don't have any feeling below the bellybutton...is this normal?

Happy Healing ladies.

Hey there Kentucky gal,
I too am numb and still reluctant to bend over. I'm scarring,no openings, but I'm afraid of the pain I will suffer from it.
Be well

Yes, I still have some numbness. My DH was using alcohol wipes to get rid of the residue once all the tapes fell off, and I mentioned that I could barely feel his touch. He replied, "Well, you know some nerves were cut. It takes a while for those to grow back." He is probably right. I had't thought of that.

Herbal remedies...Thanks Kentucky Gal! I'll check it out later. I pulled it up on the website for a glance. Hope they ship to APO boxes. You ladies have fun today...I have to run off to work! I'm feeling GREAT!!!!!!!!!! Had a great week end with friends...enjoyed a Wine Tasting party..."Okinapa". Scrubbed my floors, vacuumed, the house smells good, shiny floors. (My DH was awesome helping around here, but even though he will clean and even do the bathroom, it's more of a swish and flush...I'm like, you really have to get down here and clean) Have fun all...watch the stinkin' pot holes back East. I'm from Ohio...I remember.

Kentucky Gal & Acirema I too have been experiencing the numbness. I had it before my second surgery but it is definately more pronounced since my last surgery last week. I never even thought of the nerves being cut. But it certainly does make sense. I hope it doesn't take too long to go away it feels weird. I have a post op appt with the surgeron who performed my hernia surgery on Tuesday. I think I will ask him how long I can expect this to last for. I also noticed that I actually have like an indent in my stomach under my belly button. Yikes does it look strange. But I guess it is better than my stomach sticking out.

My fever finally broke and the doc has me on some antibotics (sorry for the spelling). I have been resting all weekend and real tired. But my incision seems to be healing and I'm moving around alot more a week after this surgery than my original surgery.

Chevelle: I know what you mean, I can't wait to be able to clean my house DH, and DD and my Mom have been doing it, but the floors and the bathroom just don't look the way I usually do them.

Take care everyone and remember to relax and pamper yourself if you've been doing to much.

I too am having the numbness, but in my case it is a blessing since this is where my infection site is that has to be packed twice daily. I can't feel the whole proceedure only a little pressure. Thank Goodness!!! Is anyone else really worried about the whole HRT thing. Since I had my ovaries removed I am told I have to do it. I am on Premarin. I don't know maybe I am getting myself all worked up for nothing, but it scares me.

Tracy~~I am on premarin and doing fine so far. My dose is .45, what is yours? I figure I am going to take it unless I find it doesn't work, or gives me problems, or whatever. My dr. is willing to work with me and I trust him, so that is what we are doing for now. Just be careful with all the "scare tactics" people will throw at you concerning premarin. You do what works for you. I have heard people say that we all should take the bio-identical hormones; and I have heard people say those didn't work for them. So, again, do what you think is best for you, whatever works. Good luck.

I am taking .9mg. I guess it is working since I feel the same as I did before. I mean as far as the whole hormone thing. I was having bad night sweats, but have been taking some vitamins that work real well. I am wondering if it will take more time to notice anything though or is it soon after our surgeries? I don't know I guess the whole concept of not knowing what to expect is most of the fear.

Tracy~~yeah, not knowing what to expect is what keeps us on our toes! I guess if something happens, then we will know it isn't working. I was on the .625 and I got magraines, so I know that wasn't the right dose! It is just a guessing game; my dr. even told me that. Yeah, our surgeries were close, and I know it will be a matter of time. Good luck!

Hi Everyone - I had my first day back at work today - only worked in the morning and saw two clients, caught up on my paperwork and had a long chat with my Managing Director. Everyone thought I looks well rested (!) and a little thinner but I have actually put on 1 1/2 kg (but only around the belly) I think I've just lost muscle mass. However, I felt so normal today it was great! In the afternoon I had to look after DH who got a terrible dose of food poisoning on Sat night and was sick as a dog all day yesterday. He was still bad today so I took him to the doctor this morning before work. Nice to be able to play nurse to him for a change!! He's getting better now and I'm just so glad that he was fine the whole time I was recovering - maybe it just wore him and his own immune system out ... all this nursing business!!

So it's now 10pm and I've been up since 7am and I feel fine! I'm not working tomorrow, will be back at work on Wednesday so you can see I'm easing back into it slowly.

A friend of mine was talking to me about bioidential hormones and she swears by them. She used to be on regular HRT but she didn't do well on it. She recommended that when I eventually need replacement hormones that the bioidentical kind is the way to go. I can't comment as I have no idea and no experience of it but I do notice that this website does advertise Bioidential hormones for sale.

Take care everyone and hope you have a good day ... across the other side of the world, I'm going to bed!

Jane
