Anyone post op LASH?

Hi!
Is anyone here post-op LASH?
Just wondering if this is going to be the same as the abdominal hysterectomy but another incision for the laparoscope?
This is stupid but when my doctor asked if I had any questions I couldn't think of any!! Now I have 100 of them! LOL

LASH

I'm not sure, but it sounds more like the DR would be using the lapriscope and you would avoid the large incision. I had a complete hysterectomy and my DR used the lapriscope and removed everything either through the scope incision or vagina. Hope this helps. I think I'd make my DR draw me pictures (I'm a visual kind of person).

Anyone post op LASH?

They are calling me with the op time tomorrow morning.
(Great notice they give huh!? LOL) I will be asking them questions tomorrow. Doc did mention that he wouldn't be able to do vaginal because there isn't enough room to do it that way because of my age and other factors.

Are you having laproscopic supracervical hysterectomy? If so you'll have 3-4 very tiny incisions, no big abdominal cut. I had LSH/BSO (removed uterus, both ovaries, tubes) I kept my cervix. If you're having LSH surgery you're lucky. I feel very fortunate I had a doctor skilled in this procedure. I came home the same day of surgery and was released for all normal activity only 7 days after surgery. You have to look at my tummy really close to see any signs of surgery. It's amazing. Good luck.

I had LSH/BSO 7 weeks ago and feel great. If you're having this done, it will be through 3 or 4 tiny incisions. Mine were at the bikini line, one at the navel and one at each hip. Everything except cervix (kept that) was removed through the small incisions. You're very lucky if you're having this procedure. Mine was done as outpatient and I was home in 7 hours. Back at work part time on week 3 and full time at week 4 (although very tired... I have a job where I can nap at lunch time and it really helped). I still feel tired from time to time and feel a twinge but otherwise I'm so much better than before the surgery! s to you.

Wow! That fast back to work...
My work is alot of heavy lifting, reaching, stretching, crouching, walking etc. so I don't know how I will fair out in the end with that.
Hopefully mine is the same with the small incisions like Candlelight and Alrunes...they have told me that I should go home next day.
Doc just called, gotta be there at 6 a.m. surgery at 7:30 a.m.!

Are you having a LSH (Laparoscopic Supracervical Hysterectomy) or a LAVH (Laparoscopic Assisted Vaginal Hysterectomy)? If you are not sure I would call your doctor and ask. There is a difference in how the surgery is done and there is a difference in the recovery. The type of surgery you are having is something you need to know before you have surgery - tell your doctor to explain the procedure to you.
