Cool - Hysterectomy dates May 28-Jun 04,2007 one year later a new woman!!!

I cannot express on paper how happy I am that I got my SAH, kept my cervix and ovaries.. My incision is still tender due to nerves regenerating. But who cares about that.

My family is happy to have their mom/ wife back. My job is happy to not miss me soo much, due to sick days. I had adeno real bad & migraines other times. I had maybe 10 good days out of 30 days. THat's no way to live. SO for me it went well. I support any decision to remove a part of you body that does not work any longer.
I would suggest keeping up with vitamins and water. IT helped me.

Amen Ladies!

Yes, One year ago we were all awaiting our trip to the castle. And now, here we are again. It's great to hear from all of you again. Time to get out our pom-poms for those who are now in the same shoes we were in a year ago. I feel great but am glad that it has passed and I can't possible go through it again. Have a great summer everyone!!!!
HUGS!

Glad to see all of your messages once again. So far, life is such a precious gift. I thank God every second of it...thanks for the second chance. Take care everyone. I do agree with Oceanmist. The hysterectomy was the best decision we have ever made. No more messy bleeding, no more anemia, etc., etc., etc.

Wow - our hyster-versary is here!
I have to say all in all I'm thrilled! It took a while but I've been feeling much better for months now. It's such a joy to be able to wear light colored clothes without worrying... Although I still "look" every time I go to the bathroom. Years of habit to break I guess!
I still have my ovaries and hormones seem in check. I'm taking Progest50 (bioidentical progesterone) which I had started before the hyst for my migraines. It's been a much better year for me and my migraines! I may get one a month - but never a doozy. Compared to three horrible ones a week - I'm not complaining!!
I wish I had done this 5 years ago!!
I hope all you sisters are doing well and feeling better!
It's good to be pain free!
Hugs
D.

Can't believe it has been a year

WOW.... can't really believe it has been a year. I can clearly remember the anxiety, tears, depression a year ago. But HysterSisters helped me through it all.
I feel great and no longer have to worry.

I have noticed though that when I spend more than 5-6 hours on my feet, I get red spoltches on my lower leg above my ankles. Don't know what those are? Should I be worried?

Re: Hysterectomy dates May 28-Jun 04,2007

I had my TVH June 1st 2007.. Honestly it was hell that first year or so but two years later I am 100% better and loving my life again.. even sexually..
I have told many woman who are facing this that it is not a "quick fix" because there are issues that come along with the surgery and there is a long healing time both emotionally and physically and and and that it will be a while before you feel GOOD again BUT that YOU will eventually be healed and reep those benies...

Re: Hysterectomy dates May 28-Jun 04,2007

Happy 2 year Anniversary! I would agree that I wished I would have listened to my doctor a few years earlier and not been so afraid. Definitely free of endo pain and cramping, bleeding all the time. The few "side effects" I have, seem to be able to be treated successfully. It did take a little while to recovery but all in all, that was nothing compared to everything I went through for years. This site was definitely a help and blessing as I was pre/post op. God Bless you all and hope everyone is doing well.....
