I finally got the green light today! I am so excited to resume all my regular activites. Eight weeks today! I really under estimated my recovery time. It took me longer then I thought to feel better. And, to hear some of you are doing exercise is GREAT!! It helps motivate me to be healthier and get fit!

Due to my incision infection, I'm still waiting for the all clear for normal activities. Next Dr. appt is January 9, and the incision is finally almost closed. My expected back to work date is January 18.

Yes, thank you!!! The hardest thing is the still being so tired. I just this week started doing some gardening - raking leaves and sitting down on a garden stool to bag the stuff ! I do a half an hour, then come in, have a drink of water, sit down, feet up for a half an hour then do it all again.

I had been working out at curves, but doc says to wait another couple months for any resistance training, due to having to have the internal stitching opened...

I just keep telling myself that I'm cancer free, and THAT was the PRIZE in this whole thing... everything else is just annoying.

scootery, I agree with being cancer-free. I feel the same way. I can put up with lots of discomfort, knowing that my cancer is gone.

I had uterine cancer, stage 1. What type of cancer did you have?

The tiredness thing seems to hit when least expected. I would think your complications added to this part.

Oddly enough, I went in due to having ovarian pain, and was found to have big (16 x 12cm) tumors on/in my ovaries. The tumors were cancer free, but they found some low grade funky cells on microscopic exam of cervical tissue. The good news is that all my washings were negative, and so was everything else. No other treatment was deemed necessary, altho I will have to have paps of my cuff for a few years to make sure nothing was left, but my doc feels strongly that they got everything that could grow ! So now, with everything out....it's just that darned verticle incision giving me temporary discomfort.

Funn thing about being 51 and this being a first surgery/scare for me. I feel so confident, so much more calm and yes, happy about life in general. I am a survivor, and all the little stuff just doesn't count any more !!
