Hormone Therapy Help

Hello Girls:

Anyone else still have bowel issues. I feel I have healed well and the Dr. even said I have......BUT -- this has been a HUGE problem for me!!!!!! With nothing working to help it. This week I went to the health food store and bought some colon cleanse pills. Gonna give that a try.

What's everyone doing about hormone therapy if anything? I had LATVH-BSO with Bladder Tuck. Have been wondering what to expect in weeks ahead hormone wise.

I was on Premarin -- decided to stop taking it..Quit for 2 weeks experiencing hot flashes, dryness and lack of desire or feeling.

Take Care and to All

Hey Laura!
Since when do we teachers get paid much of anything? We only educate those that go on to make big bucks...

kimmie- i too had a LATVH-BSO and i am on Estratest FS. it is working perfectly. i am so thrilled that the first thing my dr perscribed is the right one for me. never had a hot flash, lots of energy, emotionally better than ever and the added bonus is that the testosterone in the estratest has me actually wanting to have sex for the first time in years! so all is well with HRT for me! hope you can find something that works as well for you.

I feel great since my surgery and I'm ready to go ---- BUT ---- Dryness creates a whole new problem.......This is hard to talk about especially in an open read-me- type place.........I wasn't sure tho -- if it was just me and I was rushing things cause I felt so good........BUT I am going to look this medication up on line and check with my Dr. tomorrow......Thanks for the help.. no dryness problem so far! my sister is a pharmacist and she did say that she doesnt see Estratest FS prescribed very often. seems like the premarin, prempro, etc are the ones most commonly prescribed. i was thinking that i read that those arent used on those who have had a complete hyster. good luck tomorrow.

Hi all, I am back at work, and also had my doctor checkup. I am released for all activity, and things went pretty well with DH when we "celebrated."

I also got a vagifem? prescription for dryness since I am on low estrogen a few more months. In Jan. or Feb. I can increase my HRT dose to 0.1 from 0.05 Vivelle.

My tummy is a bit sore today but I feel mostly decent.

Yea Amy! It's so good to feel pretty normal again, isn't it? I still have these lettle twinges but nothing nothing major or disconcerting. I am tired when I get home from work, but I was tired after work pre-hyster! THat's just part of being a kindergarten teacher.

Anybody still have swelly belly issues? I'm starting to think that my swelly belly is just "swelly Laura" and I need to get busy with some exercise. I've never had a really flat tummy, but this is getting rediculous! I am more swollen at the end of the day, but I have some in the morning too.

I hope the fact that our thread has been so quiet means that everyone is feeling great and is back to their routines. I'd love to hear from the old gang, maybe more will check in this weekend.

Keep resting when you can!

Laura,

I still have swelly belly whenever I take a long walk, sit too long, or any lovin' with the DH. But, I also have that feeling of needing to work out, since my tummy has always had a rounder shape. But I know the swelly belly is still there due to the "shelf" over the incision. After my first surgery three years ago, the "shelf" finally went away after maybe three or four months...not certain exactly.

Amy,

Thanks for the reassurance! Did you have a vertical or a horizontal incision? Mine is horizontal and the swelling that is bugging me the most is up above my naval. A parent of one of my students is a gynocologist and she told me that it takes awhile for the fluids to get back where they need to be...I'll be patient!

I do notice that my belly is more swollen after I've been sitting for too long at night. I'm up and around all day, but at night I'm beat, so I'm on the couch a lot! I need to "up" my walking, but I've been pretty tired after work so I stopped my early morning walk. I'm starting back up again on Monday. Hope it doesn't start the swelly belly early in the day! I think I really need to lower the daily calorie count if I'm not excercising more. Stop the Post-hyst eat-whatever-I-want-pity party and take better care of myself! Veggies instead of chips with dip during the football games tomorrow?

Have a great weekend. Hope some of friends check in!

Laura
