OMG I almost knocked myself out

running from a bee. Biggest darn thing ..had to be 2 in by 2in glad I made it in alive! Yes I'm the person they made that insurance commercial about that would wreck his car if a bee were in it! Anyway If this was already posted let me know but I wanted to know what everyone is doing to heal as fast as possible...I don't want to miss anything ...I am taking
20,000 mg vit a
2,000 mg or more vit c
hair,skin,nails vitamin
multivitamin
as much protein as possible
enzymes to help digest and make it to my parts
After my dr gives the ok I'm going to start putting this after surgery gel of aloe, and vitamins to help with scar
...What is everyone else doing..am I missing anything??

hey dimples12-to get this information I searched for pre-opp ways to prepare my body so I'm assumming the same things will help heal after-I guess I'm the only one doing this..oh and the vit a I take is the natural kind -beta carateen. All these promote healing for the tissues and give the body things to help with collegen production ect. If anyone else has any others please let us know...

Hi! You might ask your doc about iron if you lost much blood before or after surgery. I also take calcium with magnesium and vitamin D (they help each other and the calcium is so very important), cranberry capsules (from a reputable vitamin company) to ward off bladder infections, spirulina (who knows if it helps, but it might!). I think you're taking some GREAT stuff already and you're really on the right track! Does anyone have anything to add?

Hi Kareybear and all,
Thanks for starting this thread (also see mine for things to put on scar)
Just like to add the suggestion of Arnica. I had bad bruising post-op and took this to help.

OMG I almost knocked myself out

eeewwww....that is one ugly-looking bee! I would have ran too...lol

Right now I am taking:
Vitamin C, E, B-complex, magnesium citrate, flaxseed oil, evening primrose, calcium+D (1500mg-per doctor's suggestion) and a multivitamin.

Knock on wood....I am 5 weeks postop - not on HRT and have no hot flashes or night sweats! Don't know if its the vitamins or just me, but heck...I'm not complaining

For the incision - I was using Mederma (its ok-kinda expensive), but changed over to Vit E cream and a girlfriend bought me shea butter cream. So, I think I will alternate between the the 2 creams.

Happy healing

texastj - we used to get those suckers back home in Iowa. I about died the first time I saw one at age 7!

Elk Queen - bless your heart! I forgot all about getting more fish oil when I ran out a couple months ago - same with the coQ10. I better send someone to the vitamin store this week! Thanks for the reminder!
