Take a photo of yourself "down there" before surgery
Use the camera on your phone to snap a photo between your legs!
It never occurred to me that I wouldn't remember exactly what my vagina or perineum looked like before surgery. I am 4 weeks out from LAVH and A & P Repair with internal and external stitches.
It would be helpful to see my recovery progress and any changes to what I used to look like. I think it would also ease my anxiety about some lumpy bumps (swollen glands??) that are inside my vagina. I can't remember if they were there before or it's something new.
You can always delete or hide the photo on your phone when you're healed.
Take care and be sure to limit your activities! I keep doing too much too soon and I regret it within hours. Also a binder helps me be mindful of my movements. My doctor didn't tell me to wear one but I read about them on this website. I ordered one from Amazon and it's helped.
