dVH/RALH: I have a date with a robot

I finally have a date for my hyster, July 5 @ 7:30 AM. Pre-op appt on June 28. Dr could have done the surgery as soon as next week, but he couldnt work out having the OR and robot available until July 5th. My only other option to get it sooner was to schedule at a different hospital, and I didnt want to do that. LOVE the hospital Im going to.

Looks like my 4th of July is gonna SUCK LOL I'll be sipping my broth, and preppin my bowels while everyone else is grillin burgers and watchin fireworks. ** hum

My Dr threw out the name of another surgeon that will be working on me with him, I've never even heard of this guy. Is that normal? I'm assuming I'll meet this man at some point before he is helping remove my organs???? !!!

Hello! Happy 4th of July huh!? I am having the same thing done 6/8. I actually don't have to do a bowel prep...maybe you won't or maybe you already know you do for sure. I know every Dr. is different. On having another Dr in the OR, that is very common! I've had a few surgeries and I've watched a lot of DaVinci surgery videos, and almost always there is another physician assisting. So, no worries there! Good luck to you!!
