Hi Everyone........

This is so funny......i decided to gather up all of my tampons, pads, etc to make room in bathroom cabinets etc.
Wellllllllllllllllll.......I started gathering and found them stashed everywhere........... three bathroom cabinets.........medicine cabinets.........closet where I dress.........both cars glove box's............all sizes and shapes and absorbancy's..............
When I was finished I had 2 huge paper grocery bags brimming over at the top !!!!!
I donated them to a needy gal I know with three daughters !!!!!!!

Its amazing now that I realize how "BAD OFF" i was with the bleeding.......I had to be prepared everywhere I went !!!

No MORE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a few pads left and a box of pantiliners which I really don't need at all. I haven't taken the big step yet and thrown them away. I'm superstitious. I know my period won't ever come again. I'm just afraid if I throw them out that something bad will happen. I know, it's kind of dumb. I suppose I could throw out all the pantiliners and keep one pad for sentimental reasons. LOL.....

I cleaned up my pads this past week too. I could not believe how many I had either. I have decided that I can now also buy a smaller purse since I don't need to carry around a big supply of pads and tampons any more.

I saved one large box full of pads for my Daughter. She is 11 1/2 and I don't think it will be long before she gets her period. Poor thing!!!!

When will they shut down this thread??

Ladies,

Another hint when taking calcium. If you take Prilosec or anything else for Acid Reflux like me, my doc said that the best calcium to take is "Calcium Citrate", like in Citrical (comes in store brand too). Calcium Citrate does not need stomach acid to be absorbed. The most common calcium is "Calcium Carbonate" and that requires stomach acid to be absorbed.

The amount of calcium in these tablets, while not 500mgs. or less, isn't really much more. Would it really make a difference if these tablets contain 630mg. of calcium? It seems I'm in the right range of vitamin D because there is only 400IU in these tabets?

Sorry, it's just so darn confusing.
Robin
I understand the confusion. I would think yours are fine. I would imagine that the excess calcium would be flushed out by your body since it can't be absorb. I'm not a medical person so to verify this I would call your pharmacist since your dr. is not available anymore.

Hugs,
Crystal

Thanks for letting us know. I have severe Acid Refllux and I didn't realize that some tablets need stomach acid to be absorbed. Luckily when it was time to buy calcium, I bought Calcium Citrate plus vitamin D. I got in in Walmart. It goes under the brand name Equate.

Good Morning Sisters!

I survived the graduation party yesterday. I had planned for about 75 people, but carloads of my son's friends showed up and at one point there were 135 people milling around my house. Of course it rained so they were all inside, but I love a successful party and was so joyful and grateful for the many people who cared enough to be there. Naturally I did way too much being on my feet and helping to clean up or get things for people. I had plenty of assistance, but it's just not my nature to sit around a watch someone else wait on my guests. We had a great time, but by the time the last of the die hards left at 1:00 in the morning I found it was time for a percoset. I haven't taken those since my first day home from the hospital - and that was for the ride! This morning I woke up aching all over. Sitting like a princess for so many weeks takes its toll on the muscles. I think it'll be days before I don't hurt like I just ran a marathon, but all in all, it was totally worth it. We all have wonderful memories, and many fun stories to tell.

I was reading the previous posts about people getting rid of their pads and tampons. Last night as some of my relatives were leaving, I was sending mine off as lovely parting gifts!

Please say a prayer for me. Wednesday is my checkpoint with the doctor to see if my incision has closed. -It hasn't yet so I have 3 days to get this slice healed before something else has to be done. I have a graduation party to attend today for one of my son's best friends. I intend not to stay very long, then it's my plan to hang around in loose fitting dresses with no underwear so the air can do its thing and I can close up. Wish me luck!

Hugs,
Tracy
