Hysterectomy dates Apr 30-May 07,2007

I, too, am happy to have had my surgery, and have recovered and am doing well. It is amazing, but when people talk about getting their lives back, they aren't kidding. Not only is my engery level so much higher, but I can now focus on other things. I think, prior to the surgery, my life revolved around my out of control heavy periods (brought on by avery large fibroid). I'm glad all are doing well.

Hi Everyone,
It is one year ago today that I had my hysterectomy. It brings a tear to my eye. I think of all I went through. I also had radiation for cancer so I guess it may be different than most of you. I got my energy back shortly after I finished radiation which was at the end of the summer. Its been a long winter and being unable to get out much I think I am way out of shape . Its starting to get nice here so I'm hoping to get outside more and build up some strength. I am thankful and lucky to be alive every day I thank God above. I had a few problems sexually with the scarring from radiation but now that I know whats causing it and what to do about it I feel better. Doctors don't always explain everything to you and believe me I asked. lol. TAke care my friends and Happy Hysterverary to all. Yvonne

Hey Yvonne! I had mine 1 year ago today also! Congrats to both of us LOL. The year has flown by. I am glad that I had my hyster except for the fact that I am having reoccuring cyst problems. I had a breast tumor removed in 11/07 and then daily pelvic pain since Dec. I had a cyst removed via abdominal cut on 2/27/08 and 4 weeks post op..another cyst. I have 1 ovary left with a painful cyst on it. What to do?! But all of this has made this year fly by. Sounds like you had a year also. Glad to hear that you are doing well!

It has been an intresting year. I am still bloaty in the middle. and having pain with bowel movements..since right after surgery. Dr. said not to worry about rectocle.....Maybe just a huge hemmroiod??? Had a colonoscopy and CT found nothing. So just a little concerned.. But the big picture.. I couldn't have done this with out this site. I looked forward to checking in a couple of times each day during my recovery. You were invaluable to me. God Bless you all.. God loves you and so do I!
