You should go to Yahoo and look up some endometriosis websites. There is a lot of good info. out there, but make sure you filter it. Not everything you'll read is 100% true.
To answer your questions...there are several theories as to what causes endo, but no one can say for sure, you can have nosebleeds because of endo if it infects the cartiledge of your nose, the only sure "test" that can tell you if you have endo or not is a simple surgical procedure called a laparoscopy, it can be treated a variety of different ways such as: watching it and doing nothing, hormone supression, surgical approaches, etc. , women with endo do not normally wind up having to have a hysterectomy for the simple fact that there is no cure for the disease, only ways to manage it.
If your daughter has endometriosis interna (also known as adenomyosis) then she will more than likely end up needing a hyst. because that is the only cure for adenomyosis.
