It seems we all have the poof of a belly thing goin' on. In time, it'll go away I hope. I'm so glad to be a part of the circle of acquaintances. You ladies are truly an inspiration. Being an at home mom, who just had surgery, sometimes, with extra time on my hand, I can hardly wait to read what everyone has to say. You all stay strong, rest, keep these memories and think of ideas for preparing your homes for the autumn season. Funny I say that (I live in Houston) and we're warm most of the year but hopefully it'll cool off soon. Chat with you ladies later. Bye!

I, too, had a two week appt. instead of three a couple of weeks ago. It mainly consisted of verbal do's and don'ts, a check up on stitches (THP) and questions I had that were answered. He gave restrictions.... where there were none for you (no lifting, stretching, sex even light gardening and housework was on hold; no working too strenuosly, stay away from exercise for now, even the fat burners, walk a little and rest....He mentioned I was sore and had swelly belly because of the insides still healing. Yes I too get tired come evening and sometimes very painful. And yes he did mention how anyone following surgery should be so careful as not to cause any future damage internally. The couple of times I did "push myself" not by his instruction, I ended up in bed 1-2 days heavily medicated. Your body knows how to heal itself and in one time length. So, not to dispute your doctor's instructions, but you might wanna look into what I've said....unless you did not have major surgery. Anytime you look up what has just taken place with all of the Hystersisters on the website, rest is the main word it gives. Even after your six weeks, my doctor said, your body will still take 6-12 more months to completely make a whole recovery. Just thought I'd send my thoughts and my experience. Would't want you to hurt yourself. Take it easy. Bye!
My dr is in his 40's and is up on the latest with women's health and laparoscopic surgery is his favorite to do. However, he never has had or will ever have a uterus. I do listen to my body and I know for the most part I am tired, with an achy back and mild cramping and swelly belly :bellyby evening. That's why I love this website. It helps me compare notes. I left my dr's appt. feeling like a wimp and that I should be ready to run a marathon by now.

Hi Rita, (and all my sisters) Today turned in to quite a trip. My husband needed new jeans so we took of to Kohls after leaving DD at dance. I am down a total of 20 pounds 12 before and 8 after. I have been doing WW. Well I went down to a size 16 pants!!!!! I am thrilled!!!!!! I have to dig out my fall work clothes don't know how they are going fit. I am happy to start back this Thurs. but it is bittersweet....one of my dear friends who teachers with us lost her husband early Friday morning. Long story short he was diagnosed with pancretitas in the spring told to change diet and stop drinking.....well he didn't listen and had a relapse the first day of school...other organs started to shut down and it turned bad very fast. We have the viewing tomorrow and service on Monday...it has been very difficult and tomorrow will be hard. She has two sons in college and I sure once this is all over it will hit her like a wall that she is all alone in her house.

On the other had my son is doing well hope yours is doing well in school. I am looking foward to doing more today went well and I feel good just tired at night which is good 'cause so far I have been able to sleep!!!!

Take care I believe you are going back Monday for a few hours.....good luck. To all my sisters its one month and I can't believe it. My DH was so funny on the way home he says well at least you won't have to worry about ruining your new pants and by the way you look great!!!!!

I'll check in tomorrow it is great to see how good everyone feels and how recovery is going.....I do look forward to reading your posts they are uplifting.

Oh..Petrina...good for you on the WW...must be fun to buy new pants....for me I had to buy bigger as I still have some swelly belly...funny I have lost 8lbs now and still had to go from a size 8-10 to buying a 12..LOL...but I keep telling myself it is only temporary....you must be thrilled that your husband also noticed!!!....and yes I am also happy that I will never have to ruin another pair of underwear or pants due to heavy periods So sorry to hear about your friends loss.....and you are right..she will not even feel the full magnitude of it for some time....it is terrible....Just knowing a little about you on here, Petrina, I am sure you will be going out of your way to help her in any way you can.....good luck in your return to work and let us know how it goes asap!!..

Hi everyone!

Petrina - 20 lbs - that is AWESOME. A couple of my friends joined WW just before my surgery, and I plan to join with them when I get back to work. They've done really good on the program. I've lost 14 lbs since surgery and want to keep going.

I was SO excited tonight. Had dinner plans, and wasn't sure what I'd wear. I put on jeans for the first time and they were *comfortable*! Even with some swelly belly, they fit tons better than they did before surgery. No gymnastics required to stretch them out before I could comfortably sit down. Doesn't take much to make me happy!

Best wishes to everyone starting back to work this week.

Feeling fine today. Went out and ran errands, got lunch and did 'thank you' cards for those that helped me during my convalescence. Will take a walk later.

Regarding that, I'd like to thank you all for letting me vent everyday. Writing has always been therapeutic to me and this board was exactly that. I will be returning to work next Monday so I'm looking forward to returning to the usual productiveness. I probably wont have much time to come in here but I wish everyone continued healing physically, mentally and spiritually.

I feel good and intend to live a full life. I wish you all the same.

I am so happy for you ule. Good luck at work. I'm hoping to return to work on 8 Octobe, my Dr will let me go in on light duty. I pretty sure he will not let me return to the jail for awhile but hopefully I can work in dispatch. It is fast paced and stressfull but there is no physical requirements.
Today was a little rough I was up long enough to watch a footbnall game on TV but went to sleep after that. I have not even taken my walk today. I have some pain but this to will pass.
