I don't regret the surgery (Hope this helps someone)

To all of the princess and ladies in waiting, I hope this helps someone.

Do I regret having this surgery? NO WAY!!!! I've never been happier in my life than I am right now. No bleeding, no cramping, no postponing trips because I've "started" or I don't feel good. I haven't felt this good in 4 years!

Do I feel less of a woman? NO WAY!!! I've never felt more like a woman. I can be spontanous..I can wear sexy panties again without the fear of ruining them and I don't have to tell my DH...not tonight. (He always knew what was going on when I said that)

Just because you've had your uterus and possibly everything else removed does not make you less of a woman. DO NOT under any circumstance let anyone make you feel that way. We are all special and we may not yet know why, but in due time, it will be revealed on what you have to offer others..whether it be a hug, a shoulder to cry on or more.

I've read so many posts from women that are unhappy with their choice or because someone made them feel less than a woman and I'm here to tell you...I am not one of those people.

We read the down side of these posts and most women, when they are happy don't post those kind of messages and I personally think that people need to read those as well as the bad.

Sorry for rambling, but I hope this helps someone.

Wendy

RIGHT ON!!

My surgery was only 2 weeks ago and I agree with everything Wendy said. If I feel this great only 2 weeks post op, I can only imagine what it will be like in a month, a year, etc.

Amen wickedwoman!

10 days post-op I may have my physical complaints, but MENTALLY?? I couldn't feel more pleased with my decision -- ovary shock and all! I've already bought some cute WHITE pajamas, pants and shorts for summer that I can't wait to wear without fear.

As pathetic as this sounds, I used to pray for my period to start on a Friday (I'd bleed profusely on days 2 & 3) so I wouldn't be humiliated in a meeting or at work. God love my DH & DSx2. They missed out on a lot of weekend activities or went without me over the years! Soon I'll be back in control of my life -- or rather, since I was 9 when I started -- Soon I'll FINALLY be in control of my life!!

NO REGRETS!

I'm with you Wendy and the other sisters above. I look back at what I suffered for five years and can't believe I had to put up with it all - the symptoms completely dominated my life and to an extent, those around me. I am also realising there were some symptoms that I did not know were related - just thought it was old age creeping up - which are now gone too - back ache, pressure, pain, bladder issues etc. I feel very happy with my choice, although in the end there did not seem any choice.
I feel as if I have been given my life back.

Thanks to all of you who agree with me. I just wanted the ladies in waiting to know that it's not all bad!!!! We sit here reading the post on how bad people feel, problems they have etc...and not trying to minimize those, but they need to hear from the princess's that haven't had many problems and realize there is a life......much more wonderful life after they surgery.

Hugs to you all!!!!!
