My decision

For a long time, I wasn't sure if hysterectomy was the good decision. I have been diagnosed with endometriosis for about 10 years now and with fibroids for 3 years. The pain during my periods was pretty bad and I had episodes of very heavy bleeding during my periods as well (to the point where I had to go to ER).

I have seen a few doctors regarding these issues, and have tried a few things (Lupron, Visanne). The symptoms returned very quickly after and got worse. I also had laparoscopies surgeries (3) to "clean" the endometriosis. Symptoms returns quickly after also.

Every time I tried something new, I was hoping that it was the good treatment and that I would be ok. However, symptoms were worse after each treatment. My uterus is now the size of a 14-week pregnancy, the pain is still there and I have episodes of very heavy bleeding. I decided to have an hysterectomy when I was waiting a the drugstore and the bleeding was so bad that I had blood to my knees in 20 seconds without warning.

I have been referred to another doctor and he agreed to do an hysterectomy. I am waiting for a date but they told me it should be in March. I am very happy with my decision, I really think that it will take care of many issues I have. Can't wait for March...
