Day 14 post hysterectomy bleeding

So I’ve read about spotting but at what point should I be concerned? It just started yesterday. The pain today was more pain than the last few days as well.

What should I do?

Re: Day 14 post op bleeding

At 2 weeks post op, most women are resuming physical activities and experiencing some light bleeding and cramps.
Have you been doing more lately?

Re: Day 14 post hysterectomy bleeding

The general guideline is if you're filling a maxipad in an hour, that's an emergency needing immediate medical attention. Also reportable to your doctor is a gush of blood or passing clots larger than a quarter.

Spotting can happen at any point during these initial weeks even if you'd had none earlier, usually either stitches dissolving (around weeks 3 or 4), or you're doing more as GPMS mentions. It's not necessarily that you're doing something "wrong" - you could be walking more - but still review what you're doing. If you're engaging your core in things like vacuuming or mopping, pull back.

Since you've just joined us, you might find these resources helpful in knowing what to expect during these first weeks:I'd also like to invite you to connect with your Recovery Thread for women who had surgery the same week as you at Recovery Progress Reports for July 13-16. Recovery Threads are wonderful for getting support, comparing notes, encouraging others, and keeping one another company.

Yes I actually started back working from home today. Sitting up for 8 1/2 hours working is what my dr told me could have started the bleeding and the exam from my post op on Tuesday cold have caused it as well. I was advised to take it easy and only work part time for the moment.

Thank you so much
