Re: Surgery Monday-- one piece of advice for me?
I loved my binder. I got it from the nurse that took care of me.
I used it for about 5-7 days.
It really helped with my stitches, especially when I coughed to clear my throat after the surgery.
Good Luck!

I also love my binder; wish that I would of had it sooner. It makes a big difference for me sleeping.

Do I need a binder for the LAVH?
I had LAVH 9 days ago and my binder has been my best friend! It isn't mandatory with LAVH but I would HIGHLY recommend it. I am usually a size 2 but with swelling post op I have needed all the support I can get and the supportive undies are just too painful against the incision. Im still wearing the stretchy ones from hospital with the binder I got from this site, also the ice packs in it were wonderful, although my incisions are small the bruising was not and the ice felt so nice.
Also I recommend getting a stool softener called colace, its a bit pricey but dr. recommended for a reason.
