New Date

Yikes I just had my surgery date moved up from the 28th to the 20th of Feb. I have my pre op tomorrow and am now really nervous. Too much to do and not enough time and worried that something worse is going on...

Re: New Date

Hi Fellow Floridian!

I know the feeling. Not enough time, but too much time to think about it and be nervous. Take it in stride, put one foot in front of the other. Make a list. Or two. Or three. Think all positive thoughts and forward to when you're home resting and relaxing, enjoying a nice, smooth recovery.

You're not alone!

...and P. S. If they moved the date, if I know most healthcare providers' methods, I would guess the date change is all about someone else's convenience and not about your medical findings. Besides, I should hope they would be forthcoming about any information they have beyond what you already know.

Re: New Date

I was kind of nervous about my pre-op because it makes it all the more real, but I found it very reassuring. Make a list of questions you want to ask your doctor - including any worries you have.

I had a very long list and my doc answered probably 3/4 of them before I even asked. I felt pretty good about things after the pre-op.

The reschedule was likely due to someone else's schedule like Toonces said. I would ask your doctor tomorrow about why you were moved up.

Good luck.

Re: New Date

Thank you ladies, that made me feel better. I have at least two lists made (so far :-P) and my Doc is super. He answered 98% of my questions before I even asked them at my last appointment. I am so ready to be rid of the pain though.

Re: New Date

Well now my surgery has been bumped to a later date. Now I have to deal with at least one if not two more periods :-(
