TLH: Hysterectomy in AM (12/17) -- hubby called into work I have to drive myself��

Hubby got called into work and now I have to drive myself and will be by myself before surgery. I'm already scared to death now I'll be alone. So disappointed😞

That does stink, but even though my hubby drove me in, i still felt very alone as my anxiety was overwhelming. And i was even thinking that as we drove .. " i could have Driven myself"

Do you have a friend or any family members that live near that could ar least drop you off?

They're all working and my MIL is driving in in the morning but won't be there until 8.

You might check with your dr or the hospital. In my instructions I was told that they would not do the surgery unless I had someone there. I don't know what people do who have no one to go!

I was just told I had to have someone to drive me home. While it sucks to go it alone, just breathe deep, you'll be fine!

I almost had to drive myself and be alone before surgery but then my parents came and were able to take our kids to school/daycare and my husband was with me. I think I would have been ok alone but I was happy it turned out the other way.

Do you have a friend who could go with you?

Everyone was so nice at my pre-op that it went by very quickly and after, I was so out of it, I didn't really care who was there. Actually, I was starving. So, I called room service, ordered up 2 pork chops and kept pushing the pain med button. I had a fine time by myself.

Mine doesn't say anything about arriving alone just that I can't drive home.

So sorry that you have to be alone. My husband and my mother were with me. I didn't really want my mother there (nothing negative to her just really wanted to be alone with hubby because of emotions) but my husband pushed for her to come, I think more for support for him than me. He was more of a mess than i was The hospital I went to also has a wonderful chaplain who came in to prayer with us before, checked on them while they waited and stopped by before we left. That really gave me a peace throughout the whole thing.

I'm assuming you'll be staying in the hospital at least over night, my advice is, stay as long as possible. By then you'll find someone to give you a ride. Good luck and don't fret, you'll be fine. The best way to get through this, is one bit at a time and always give yourself permission to rest.
