Re: To bind or not to bind that is the question

I'm just over 2 weeks post-op and I have 2 from my doc. I've now had 6 abdominal surgeries and this is the first time I've ever had one and I love it. It helps hold things in, while making me aware to not overdue things. I also had 3 hernias repaired at the same time as my TAH.

Re: To bind or not to bind that is the question

I'm four weeks post-op and a size 22. I would definitely recommend that you get an abdominal binder. It will help you feel great support. I am still wearing mine as often as I can, especially when I am laying down to sleep. Although, my doctor recommended that I wear one, the hospital didn't automatically give me one. So, on the day of my discharge, I asked the nurse for one. In addition, I went to a nearby medical supply store and bought an extra one for when the original one was being washed and air dried. I really think you will be very pleased with the use of an abdominal binder. Wish you well with your surgery!
