Hi MyTime47!!

I am 13 days post-op and still have only had 1 decent nite's sleep...last nite was the worst....my DH had been wonderful and was sleeping on the couch so that I could have the bed to myself with as many pillows as I wanted....well, I was starting to feel bad as he has a bad back and gets up for work at 4am..so last nite I told him to take back the bed...I planned on staying on the couch only because I knew I would be restless.....I took a Lunesta at 10:30 and was still wide awake at 1:30 ...when I finally dosed off it was weird as every little sound from outside would wake me right up....I went back to my bed when DH left for work @4am.....took me a while to fall back to sleep and just as I did the sprinkler system went off and the water would rotate around and hit the siding of the house near my window..LOL.......maybe dozed off soon after, and than woke to my 6yr olds new alarm clock buzzer going off at 7am....he wanted one so he could practice getting up early for school which starts tomorrow....he was so proud of himself for getting right up and ran into my bed and kissed me good morning and started talking nonstop about his excitement of going to 1st grade....so my frustration of not being able to go to sleep was replaced with pure joy!!! I felt very blessed and lucky to have such a happy child that it wiped away my grouchiness really fast....

it must be a common thing with the insion not sealing completely. but I was in formed it will heal from the inside out but leave a larger scar in that area I will find out from the doctor on thurs. I have one in the middle. I also have a knot on the left side inside I think it is just where it is healing as long as it isn't infected I think it is ok. Just keep an eye on it and let your dr know.
CAtoVA I found fibercon taken once a day helps with the bowel movements and easier on the hemos. walking is great just don't over do it. also my dr told me long ago that
to much caffine dries the colon and causes hemos from the strain of going'

Hi everyone!

I am almost 2 weeks post-op... was feeling really good, just a little achiness in lower belly. Now I am finding I started to do too much over the past 3-4 days (going to a Fair didn't help I'm very sure - walked/stood for 4 hours ; then drove a short distance yesterday)..... Husband finally agrees and says he'll try to do more, especially with 4 year old.... Now I'm going to rest the rest of the next week when he goes back to work........ augh, can't stand seeing all that needs done around the house.... and I know it still won't get done. Going to try to do nothing....

So glad everyone is doing well - most of the time I feel like I haven't had surgery.... guess that's why I have done more than I should.

I am having issues with surgical menopause, but other than that doing ok, most days dont take any pain meds at all and have no problems, also swelly belly going down good too, so feeling alot better. I have always been a roll with the punches type as a single mom, now I seem to cry over the least little thing, on low estrogen but got to wait to go back to doc on the 19th to find out if he can raise dose abit hope he does.

15 days post op

Still feeling very uncomfortable. Can't say it is pain really. I am only using extra strength acetaminophen now.
I got up this morning and walked the kids to school (it's a 5 minute walk) and had to come home and have a nap.
I find my skin is really sensitive. I can't stand anything touching my tummy. The nightgown rubbing drives me in sane!
Had DH run the vac thorough and wash the floors as he goes back to work tomorrow. Not being able to do stuff when I see it needs to be done is making me crazy and I didn't use to be a neat freak. Now I want it neat and that's not always easy with 3 kids doing their own thing (10, 12 and 14). They sure don't like to help much!

Cherlq63,
Why don't you call your MD's nurse and see what they say about the weepies & upping your HRT? Personally, I have been very happy with my emotional state since scrapping the ovaries. Had a dang migraine, but looking forward to hormonal balance down the line.

Hey All, Had my post op appt today. It went ok. Had all of my 50 staples taken out. Doing ok. First day of driving. Why is my back bothering me so much??? Almost like I have no spine? Lost 20 lbs. Not necessarily bad considering I'm over weight. Wish I could get back to some normalcy. But, I'm going to enjoy peace and quiet for a bit.
Dr let me know I had stage 1 Ovarian Cancer. Not too shocking to me...I'm going to focus on the good things now! No more bloating, no more periods, no more tampons, sex any time I want it. I guess all in all, I feel pretty good.

I AM HAVING BLEEDING AND SHOOTING PAINS IN THE
ABDOMINAL AREA. MY DOCTOR SCHEDULE A CAT SCAN
THIS COMING THURSDAY SEPT 6 TO SEE WHAT IS CAUSING
THE PAINS. HOW YOU TOLD YOUR DOCTOR ABOUT THIS.
MY PAINS ARE UNCOMFORTABLE AND WILL BE GLAD

Walked to the car, drove to the store, washed/styled hair (didn't lose much today...yay!!). Starting to get figure back but the stomach is still alittle 'out there'. Haven't tried on any of my work clothes yet but I'll be going to Target this weekend to stock up on decent-looking things that fit.

Today's concern: I'm constipated as hell! The stuff they gave me to soften my stool is obviously some sissy stuff and I was actually in pain using the bathroom yesterday (and absolutely nothing came of it). So I bought some super colon cleanse while at the store A bad colon will take you out the game as much as any other illness.

School started in Chicago today and it felt weird not being there to greet the kids (who are actually high schoolers) but what can I do.

ule, what do you do in Chicago schools? I know how you feel, spent 20 years teaching in our town HS and five years ago moved into counseling in our middle school grades 7and 8. It is strange not to be back today, but I am helping out from home and I was able to go see me son who left for college on Sunday his school had a freshman welcome and brunch if I was working I would not have been able to go husband works nights so we both had a nice morning out!!!!!! Take care Petrina
