I hope that everyone is feeling better. My surgery was Aug 13,2007.
I still have my ups and down. I had a cat scan 3 days ago. I feel bad
on some days and some what better on some days. I suppose to go
back to work on Sept 26. I wonder if my doctor will let me do part-time
the first week and work my way back to eight hours a week. I have
been bleeding for the last 4 days. They took everything except one ovary.
Is the bleeding suppose to happen when the cervix is gone. I heard that
if you keep your cervix you might have mini -period around the 3 weeks, but
my cervix is gone. Has anyone gone through this.

No Walking At Walkathon **sigh**

So this a.m. was the UNCF walkathon and I got up this morning took a cab, signed in, picked up my t-shirt and did the light exercises with the crowd (which basically consisted of doing an electric slide...easy and probably good exercise for me). Took a couple of pictures for my website so the folks that sponsored me would know I at least showed up.

I sat for a few, watched everyone else get geared up to either walk, run or bike for the cause...then I caught a cab back home. I'm sad I couldn't fully participate because the weather was perfect and walking 5k would normally have been easy for me. That's ok, next year it's on!!!

Creshaunda, did you get the results of your cat scan? What does your doctor say about the bleeding. I had a TAH on the 21st so no cervix either and I have only had a little spotting which the doctor said was the internal stitches breaking down. Seems like you have been bleeding for awhile. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

They said that it will be a few days before I get my
cat scan report and I will have my 4 week post up
check up next week on sept 12. She said til then if it
gets worst call her and go to the ER. It is not real
heavy right now. She said when I come in I will get
a good check-up. I will keep you posted and I am happy
that you are feeling well.

I went to the mailbox when I woke up from my nap this afternoon. In it was what I hope is the first and last bill I'll receive. Lord have mercy...that's all I can say. Thank god for insurance but what I owe will have to come from a creative place in my financial life.

I've been to the other threads on Hystersisters that talk about the 'sticker shock' and folks are going through the same things...maxing out credit cards, dipping into accounts etc.

If this isn't enough incentive to get and be well, I don't know what is.

All that i can say is i had my hysterectomy on 22nd August and i feel absolutely great. I have had a couple of blips but nothing that would stop me thinking this was the best decision i have ever made! I would happily go back to work in a couple of weeks but the sugery didnt go as well as expected, so i am off for a minimum of 10 weeks!

Hey Ladies,

I had my "procedure" on 8-22. It is almost 3 weeks post-op and I feel great. I came home 2 days after surgery and laid around for about a week and a half. I have been up walking and sitting up since I got home. I was finally able to start driving this week. I am so glad. I am ready to get back to my regular "life". I am glad all of you are doing well. I wish you all the best.

Off to the mall with the girls......DD and good friend...........not shopping for me yet belly still a little swelly!!!!!! Feel good and going back to weight watchers tomorrow night and hope to be below my last weight. I still don't want to eat much and at times right after eating I have to run to the bathroom. Not happy with my scar....it seems to have a piece of skin that sticks out from it. In the past the others healed so nice and flat......first time with staples the other three were stiches. I am setting out to make this week productive.......taking care of small jobs around the house with papers, and getting things in order. My DH also told me he would agree to take me the the gym if I only did the treadmill slowly.......I want to do this and I will take it easy!!!!!!!!! Hope all my sisters have a good day!!!! Petrina
