I had my 6 week post-op check up today. Ironically I had to wait an extra hour for the MD - she was at the castle with my BFF who had TAH/RSO yesterday. She won't release me to work yet, but I get to take a bath and she said I am cleared to "entertain" if I feel like it. But to take it easy. Unfortunately, my DH has to work late tonight, maybe this weekend.
Still no bicycle but I can go back to Curves if I go slow. Every little step gets me closer to being healed.

I, too, do not miss my parts. Mainly because they have caused me so much pain in the last year. I felt so good the day after my surgery compared to before, that moarning the loss hadn't even crossed my mind. I can understand what some of you ladies are going through. I felt a terrible sense of loss after I had my tubal ligation. More for the loss of further choice than anything else.

God speed to all of us and happy healing.

Your Right Ladygadiva, I guess it's the loss of choice.
Hubby and I thought about reversal before surgery for us to have a baby together. I was sad, still am.

My hair is falling out and my skin is soooo dry. I feel like that chick in those alligator commercials! :hot
Hubby & I tried to "entertain", it doesn't feel the same.
I'm gonna give it a few more weeks I guess.

I feel like I lost my maternal feelings. I didn't mean to be so rude to Jenny back there....ITS JUST MENOPAUSE! :burning:

My 6 week ckup today........Got released!..YEA!...He said still one stitch in there but it should let loose soon.....So back to work full time next week with watching how much I lift...(no 50 pounders!)

He said the 'pulling' I'm feeling could be muscles that hadn't been used in a while.

Sooo I keep focusing on the positives of all this....NO MORE PERIODS...YEEHAW!!!

Good luck with everyone's 6 wk checkups.....

Glad to see everyone is progressing nicely. I feel progressively better as the days go by.

Wearing heels all day is still a chore. Also, I still can't sleep comfortably on my stomach...still pulling something. I made it through week one of work. Everything went fine and I almost feel caught up. The kids were acting 15 kinds of stupid today because of homecoming so I was alittle stressed. Other than that I am easing back into things. Hallelujah, Monday is Columbus Day so I can get some extra rest.

First day back at work

Today was my first day back at work, and it felt really good to be back to some sense of normalcy again. It was great to see my work friends!!

I noticed some belly pain starting around midday, but for the most part, I was happy with how things went. I took my Motrin8's along, but didn't need them. I have to admit, I was feeling pretty tired when I got home, so I took a nap rather than a walk.

All in all - a good day!

Glad to hear everyone is progressing nicely. Many hugs and thanks to all!

All you ladies sound so good. The ones who've gone back to work while still healing and the rest who are well "just" healing. (smile) I, too, had my six-week checkup this past Wed (10/3), couldn't wait until 10/4 Wanted hubbie too bad. We planned a lunch together after the drs. appt. and headed for a nice, quiet place. (we have houseguests) anyway, the SX was wonderful; my TAH didn't cause any complications just a lil', very lil' pink tinge. Guess from not having any SX for a while. Dr. said everything looked good and I could get back in to my landscaping mini- business, but to take it slowly. Too bad it'll be whole year til I see him (Doc) again; he's a cutie ladies. No more pap smears, no more heavy, painful, long periods, no more drab, slow non-energetic dayz. I have so much energy going for me now. Can't wait to get started on a regular exercise program. Doc says sit-ups are fine, even running. So ladies, do we go to the next step? ARe we in the new group of Post-ops? I think its for all those who have reached their six-week checkup and would like to stay in contact. Take it easy ladies and let us enjoy this special time the Lord has blessed us with. Just think, several weeks ago, we were all worried with anxiety and then a couple weeks from our surgeries, we were sore (unthinkable), then some of us tried to clean or walk or do some other activity before time and regretted but overall, WE STAND.....YEAHHHHH! Hang in there ladies, we have the whole world in front of us. Tropical 8 (Houston, TX. Age 41)

Tropical8, After 6 weeks went back to work for 8 hrs each day. I don't get a chance to sit down for at least 6 of those hours. Must admit was a bit tired after coming home from work. I noticed my back hurting, leg cramping and lower abd. twinges going on. Probably over did it at work. Had to sit in my recliner for at least 1 hour each day before doing anything else. Used wisdom last night and got caught up on a little R&R. Am very thankful the worst is behind all of us. It just takes time to heal. Glad you're keeping all uf us post-op girls in your prayers. This site has truly been a blessing to converse with so many nice ladies who have been through what you have been through. Hugs, LadyM
