Creshaunda - Right now the surgery is planned as a same day surgery so I should not have to stay in the hospital. I am having it done laparoscopic as long as everything goes well. It just depends on the adhesions and everything.

I am not sure on the recovery time. I am sure that I will find all of that our when I do my pre-op with the DR on the 25th. I have scheduled to take 2 weeks off. (really it is only a week off, since I work part-time).

I will let you all know how things go. I will be glad when this is all done and over with. I am ready to fell 100% normal again!

Thanks for all of your support and ears to listen.

Tanya

Hello ladies ~

I returned from the castle on 3/3. The surgery was a uneventful one. My DR had planned on doing this laparoscopically. But, once inside, he said everything was a mess! So it ended up a abdominal one, with another 6 weeks out of work! UGH...

My ovaries/tubes had a large amount of adhesions. They had attached themselves to my small bowel, appendix, ureters and everythings was pulling down. My ovaries were actuall on top of my pubic bone, squished!! He was able to get both ovaries and one of my tubes out. The other tube is still attached to my ureter, since it was to dangerous to take out.

I am now on the mend again. I had forgotten about the swelly belly . I will look forward to getting back into my regular pants again!

Hi Tanya !!

Sorry to hear this ended up being an open surgery, but glad to hear you're on the mend -- hopefully once and for all!!

When I read about experiences like yours, I'm amazed at what goes on inside our bodies... so much that we simply take for granted every single day.

Take care and !!

Thanks for all of the healing thoughts that are being sent my way. I ended up having another set back this week!
I had to see my DR on Tuesday, since I had no appetite, not drinking alot and running a fever of 101.5. He thought that I had the flu and was dehydrated. So he sent me over to the ER next door to get rehydrated. Since he could not do any IVs in the clinic. They decided to do a CT scan, because my belly felt funny. Glad they did!

Well...turned out that I had a 8-9cm pelvic abcess! So, off to interventional radiology to have it drained. Another 2 days in the hospital. UGH!!! I came home yesterday with the drain until monday, when hopefully it will come out. I will keep you all updated on how things are going!

Thanks again for all the well wishes!
Tanya

Tanya...hope you feel better soon..I feel so bad for you that you have not had any peace since your surgery...I kind of know how you feel, as it seems I have had one thing after another pop up since...maybe one connected to it, but can't say for sure..I had my surgery one day before you and I swear my swelly belly is not normal...trying to excercise and watch what I eat, but I have had to go from a size 10 to 14 because my stomach sticks out so much in front...I was on steroids in Dec and gained weight from them, but this swelly belly has been with me since surgery...my surgery was almost 10hrs long instead of 3 and I swear I still have fluid in me....doc doesn't see anything wrong, and unlike you, there is no fever or discomfort...so will have to work harder at getting rid of it I guess.....I will pray that this is the end of it for you.....you deserve a break.....let us know how you progress..and rest up..though I am sure you are tired of hearing that!!!
