I guess its a case of listen to your body it will tell you what it wants to eat / drink. I want fresh fruit, salad, lots of iced water. Tried some chocolate yesterday tasted bitter didn't like it Guess my body only wants healthy foods at the moment and very small amounts - think my stomach has shrunk! Get full very quickly. Oh well! Stitches stinging tonight can actually see one of the nylon threads sticking out - hope they all dissolve!
All the best and take care.

New

Just found this site last night. Sugery date was 8-13-07 I had a complete. Yesterday was my 6 week check up and everything is going great. I tried to have sex last night but it did not go well for me. A little down from it.
I head back to work on Oct. 10th. I started a gradual excerise program yesterday. My son is keeping a close eye on how much I do so I don't over do it! So far I feel great from what I did yesterday. Just need advise on my sexual feelings now.

Food tastes different to me too. Don't seem to like sweets as much right now and I get full fast. Kind of like that actually! Maybe it's the hormone replacement? Does anyone know anything or is taking Angeliq? I've only been on it for a few days.

Sounds normal to me. I am still sore and hurting. I don't sleep well either. I am doing better than I was a week ago so I know it will keep getting better. Do you see any improvement, Joy?

Went to the Dr for the flap. He left it alone. Said it was probably a drainage point and stayed wet longer than the other areas. He is confident it will close on its own. The bummer is...it hurts.

some days...its like 2 steps forward one backward. very frustrating. everything just hurts. i thought i was tougher than this. Plus it doesn't help that I have added the depression factor into everything else.

JoyinAZ --
you have to remember that everyone heals differantly. Being sore is a normal thing -- they did lots of stuff to us girlfriend -- and it takes awhile for the body to figure out what is normal.

I have known that I will never fall into the normal catagory for anything
so when I read posts about women that can not get dressed each day and just can not get motivated or about others taht are on pain killers not functioning -- I think that there must be something wrong with me -- because I am not experiencing this stuff. I do not discount what they are saying -- sometimes I read and say " thank god - my recovery is not having issues" but I know that this is real for them and harder for some than others.

Keep reading the posts - find the healing spot for yourself -- take it easy and let your body heal at its pace. I have learned so much from this website -- some of it I hope never pertains to me -- but i know what to expect--

Good luck with your recovery --
keep your chin up --

Thanks I will try. I am still on pain meds, as well as muscle relaxers to get my bladder to calm down. Does anyone else have problems with bladder spasms after going to the bathroom? I am also still dealing with the realization of not being able to have children. That has always been my dream. It is a day to day thing. By the way everyone lists what they have had done so heres mine....

supracervical hysterectomy ( took out uterus, left ovaries and cervix) plus 5 days before I had that done the doctor had originally did a laprascopic hysteroscopy to remove endometriosis and fibroids...but a couple of days later learning that the fibroid that was causing all the trouble was deep inside my uterus , so then 5 days after that surgery was then given a hysterectomy. So really I have had 2 major surgeries in less than a weeks time. I know I should be a little more lienient on myself.

The worst thinga for me are pain and gravity. Gravity sucks!!! I feel like i have to hold my gut everytime i get up. Anyway I really appreciate the words of encourgement....

Joyinaz,
I feel the same as you. I thought I too was a tough cookie. Hey, I had 2 kids with no pain meds. That was a nothing compared to this. I am finding out that when I do too much I sure pay for it the next day. I have been laying down with a bag of frozen peas between my legs most of the day. It is the only thing that seems to help this sensation that the elastic in my panties are waaaayyyy tooo tight around my right leg. It is so annoying. I went to the dr yesterday for my 2 wk check and walked out back on percocet, scripts for UTI and depression. What hurts exactly? Are you doing too much? What type of surgery did you have?
Just keep telling yourself. I won't be like this forever. It just takes time. Drink some hot Chai Decaf Tea with a teaspoon of sugar and milk. I swear it is the only thing I look forward to right now.
Take care.
Sandy
