Hi Ladies!

Hope everyone is doing well today. Having a so-so day today. I actually had to get my Lortab today for pain management. I'm alittle more swollen today. I am also having pain and itching on a previous incision from c-sections and its been hurting on the right side. I'm alittle nervous about it...
I dont think I should have picked up my 11 month old yesterday. I didnt get to bed till 5am this morning. And I only wound up sleeping 4 1/2 hours. DH works the midnight shift and comes home about 8am and the kids were rearing to go.

I was a mess lastnight with the emotional roller coaster. Emotions are better today. If its not one thing its another.

Well, enough rambling.
Thoughts and prayers with everyone!

Ouch. Picking up the little one was probably not a good idea. But I understand that sometimes we have to do some things that may not be so good for our recovery process. Take care and please contact your doctor should your pains increase.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers......

Thanks for everyone''s concern about my driving!

It's ok for me to be driving everyone -- my surgery was 2 weeks ago tomorrow (9/13) but I just had laparascopic hysterectomy and kept cervix and ovaries. My doc said as long as I wasn't taking any pain meds other than tylenol or Advil for at least 24 hours prior and as long as it was at least 5 days post op I could drive if I felt like it. I did pass up the "opportunity" to pull a horse trailer this weekend -- figured it would be too much for me, as that is some very stressful driving, ladies!

The latest problem now is that the **** Levaquin they gave me for the bladder infection has apparently blown up my rotator cuff tendon in my shoulder. I have spent two nights straight sitting up in bed or else I can't sleep as if I lay down on it I get excruciating pain in my shoulder blade. I have appointment with doc tomorrow but if you google "levaquin shoulder pain" you will get huge amounts of hits. AVOID THIS MEDICINE IF YOU CAN MY FRIENDS! They do NOT tell you how common this tendon damage is but it is a very common side affect from this family of antibiotics. It pretty much has to be the Levaquin -- it coincided exactly with my taking the meds, it was too far after surgery to be the operative gas, I didn't do anything strenuous (my cleaning the other day consisted of sraightening out drawers, no heavy lifting was involved), so there is no earthly reason for my whole shoulder to be frozen up like this except this drug.

I jokingly told my husband last night that based on how badly I've reacted to each and every single drug they've given me (allergic to anesthesia, Vicodin, Codeine, Darvon, Percodan, Motrin, Aleve, and now Levaquin) I guess my dream of getting new boobs will have to forever be put on hold. Fortunately he knew I was kidding and burst out laughing and told me he liked my B+/C- sisters just the way they are. I thnk I would have burst into tears if he had looked disappointed!!!

It's post op day 12 and last night was the most painful yet.
I went on two short walks last night and the last one did me in! I made it to that corner of the block but forgot I'd have to make it back home. Lots of burning pain not helped by ibuprofen so I took a Vicodin.
Today a little sore. Rode along with my dad to Wallys and picked up a few new magazines. I was so glad to get out of the house!!!
I also got some eye drops. One of my eyes has been pretty dry since surgery-I think from hormones-I think I read that somewhere-lol! The good thing is that since I was out for about 4 hours I didn't have to pee. I'm tired(no kidding) of getting up every coupleof hours during the night to pee.
So maybe my bladder is less irritated today.
Hope you all have a good night!

Tomorrow will be my two week anniversary! It's funny how one minute you feel great and the next not so much. I think I sat up too much today and my stomach is hurting! Tried to walk around the yard a bit (avoiding the stairs) and maybe it was too much. Might have to take something stronger than ibuprofen tonight. Hope everyone else has a great night and gets plenty of rest.

Is more light red discharge a sign that you have probably done too much? I puttered around the kitchen for about 30 minutes today. My incision was feeling better so I cleaned a bit. No bending down or anything like that. But my discharge changed. It is back to "normal" now.

New member from UK progress report

Hi, I have just discovered this site and think it is great that support can be offered from others going through the same experiences at the same time. I had my hysterectomy on September 13th exactly two weeks ago. I had to be re-opened up twelve hours later as I was still bleeding and had to be re-stitched internally. I could have done without two general anaesthetics in 24 hours!! Since leaving hospital three days later I have suffered from a lot of pain in my bowels and pain in my sides as well as the obvious pain at the site of the cut itself. I am not sure if I should be experiencing so much bowel pain, some days I seem to have diohorrea five or six times then for a few days I seem OK I have had four really bad days so far. I am not on any pain killers so that cannot be why. I felt really emotional and angry in the first week post op but that is subsiding now. I had a cancerous polyp which is why they suggested the op but it all happened so fast that I did not have time to come to terms with it first. I will be reading through the foums with great interest.

Flumpybumps, WOW two anaestheticst in 24 hrs!!! So sorry to hear you have had such a rough time! I had my hysterectomy Sept 12th and had internal infection afterwards Consultant believed because of internal bleeding. Didn't have drain put in like others in the ward, so I was in hospital 9 days instead of the usual 4. I went for blood tests today, (my first trip out in two weeks) as liver was very inflammed when I left hospital - so should find out results tomorrow.
Take it easy and take care
