I haven't had anymore cramps. I hope they stay away. I hope the same for you. However, I got my headache back again. Feels like a pms one. Must be the premarin. I may have to go off the hormones.

Hope you have a good day.

Hi everyone,

I'm off to the cardiologist this morning for a blood pressure check. It's been normal at home and hopefully I won't be nervous and cause to to go higher. I'm hoping it's a good visit to him and won't have to go back. Going to the dr. too often it's getting tiresome.

On the bleeding front it's going pink now. It's a relief!

Hope you all are having a good day!

Blessings

I sure am glad I read this thread again. I thought I was going crazy!

Week one; good pain meds, hardly any pain.

Week two; no pain, felt great, not even that tired.

Week three; can't keep my eyes open, upper back and neck pain to the point of nausua, dizzy when I stand so I lay down and fall aspleep again.

Does our body do this to keep us from doing to much to soon? It sucks that for two weeks when people asked how I was doing, I could answer "Great!" Now I sound like I'm whinning.

I had cramps too in August about 4 weeks after my surgery. Someone said that your body knows what should be going on so you might experience some pains like that. I have a TAH, both ovaries removed, uterus size of 20 weeks. I also felt some pains like I was having pains in my ovaries which are no longer there. I have been on and off pain meds as needed. With the weather changing I have been feeling pains on and off. I guess as the weeks go by your body will experience all sorts of things. It's been 10 weeks for me but I still have the little tenderness in my belly and slight swelling.

I was suppose to have problems with my uterus...fibroids, and my left ovary...at least 3 cysts of concern.

At my pre-op visit, my ob/gyn decided we needed to change from Laprascopic surgery to Abdominal surgery...so we changed it.

During the surgery, my uterus was found to be full of fibroids but my left ovary was fine...no cysts. Turns out my Left Fall. tube was huge - 5 times bigger than my ovary - that's very large considering our Fall. tubes are very, very small. It was filled with endometriosis - wrapped up inside like a ball of yarn. So, she removed my uterus, Left Fall. tube and my cervix. I did have an infection in my cervix that we didn't know I had. I got to keep both ovaries.

The day after surgery, my Dad died. That was a Very hard time....still is. The doctor released me Sat morning even tho I had a slight fever. My family knew I couldn't go anywhere that night, so they loaded up all the food and came to my house so I could be apart of the family gathering.

Sunday evening I went to visitation, then the funeral on Monday. Very tiring days filled with grief and sadness.

On Tues I had a doctor visit to get my staples removed and to check my fever. My incision and an area about 2 " out was very red. She put me on antibiotics to try and head off any infection. Told me to call immediately if the fever reached 101. She called and checked on me a few days later.

But, each day I seemed to be getting worse.....little by little. My temp was all over the board - from 97.0 to 100.8 , never knew what it would be - changed minute by minute.

I really didn't seem to be "sore" from the surgery. It was my back, hips and head that hurt soooo bad. Finally on Sunday morning, my husband cooked breakfast and I couldn't even hold my head up to eat. I had to prop it up and "try" to eat. I had no appetite - none. I took a warm shower and gosh that felt sooo good. After I dried my hair, I was freezing, so I went and laid down on my bed and covered up. I stayed there for 3 hours. I finally felt like getting up - took my temp and it was 102.5.

I called the hospital and was told to get up there. By the time we got there, my temp was down to 100.2.....Crazy!!!

Anyway, they pumped me full of antibiotics and had to re-open the incision - about 1/4" from the bottom. They finally released me on Wed. I'm still on antibiotics by mouth. Turns out my incision was infected but I also had a bladder infection. My white blood count was 20,000 when I got to the hospital - normal is 4,000-10,000. I was sick!!!

I do seem to be getting better each day. I still have a little fever occasionaly, but not like before. I still have some vaginal bleeding - ready for that to stop! My incision is still draining some.

But overall, I'm doing better.

I have a check up Tues - I'll get a copy of my pathology report then. I'm curious as to what all they did find and what it's called when they did surgery. I know she told me, but there's a lot I don't remember.

Hope everyone else has had a better recovery than me! Good luck to all!!!
Oh my gosh, you poor thing! I am so sorry for your loss and for all you have been through. I had my surgery the same day as you and it has been difficult, but nothing like what you have had to endure. Sending lots of hugs and warm thoughts to you in hopes the rest of your recovery goes smoothly!

I have been reading how so many of us have hurt when we pee and I was the same way a day after getting home from the hospital. It seemed to worsen and so my doctor wanted me to give them a sample to check and it was negative for a urinary tract infection, so we came to the conclusion that it was bladder spasms from the catheter and the retractor used to move my bladder during the surgery. However, the pain kept up and began to get worse and then I started bleeding. So I called the doctor again, (this was about 4 days later) and he had me go in for another specimen and this time they did detect a UTI. So now I am on antibiotics and the pain is a tiny bit less the second day into the medicine, but I am still bleeding when I pee. So I said all that to say this, be extra good to yourself and know that sometimes it takes a while for an infection to show itself. So please stay in contact with your doctors and if you are not feeling better when you pee after a few days, have them check you again. The Lord only knows we are going through plenty without having to add insult to injury. I truly hope that each and everyone of you have a better day today. I have every last one of my sisters in my thoughts and prayers today. Be kind to yourself and rest. I have had to tell myself that a thousand times because I think by now I should be able to go back to leaping tall buildings with a single bound, but I believe I have met my match. This surgery is exhausting, it is painful, and it was truly an eye opener for me. I love all you ladies. Have a blessed day.

Thanks for the advice. I am not having pain or bleeding, but can't control myself and there is an odor. Called the doctor this morning and they want me to go give a sample this afternoon. Hope it's nothing, but it's got me a little worried. I do have the spasms you talked about too and I know that is all part of the healing process.

Carcrazy,
I'm so sorry you have had such a difficult time since surgery. I had started to feel sorry for myself with just normal pain that comes from any hysterectomy and of course being impatient with my slow recovery. But when I read your story, my heart goes out to you. Keep doing what the doc says and take it very easy. I'm sorry to hear of your loss. I hope you get to feeling better soon.

To those who have responded to my posts, thank you! Even though I did not sleep well last night, I did not have an anxiety attack again, so I'm very grateful for that.

Take care everyone!

I had a full blown panic attack and needed to hear a calm voice, which I did. Maybe I should get off the freaking pain pils (Vicodin), which I have not touched one today, except my tears right now will lead me to that Rx. Maybe I am going through withdrawls? I doubt it because I've been taking pain killers since Day 1.

I still have a lot of internal pain and icision pain. Why is this taking so long to feel better? I hate living alone too. i'm scared and evenings are the hardest for me.

I just wondered if anyone else is out there that is alone and having anxiety attacks?

Still trying to be hopeful,

Yes, I have had panic attacks too. I guess it's hormonal, healing, exhaustion and all that. Laying in bed at 4 a.m. and my arm hurts (pinched nerve), my incision hurts and my bladder is leaking and seems to have a mind of its' own! Meanwhile my DH is snoring away, so I lay there quietly feeling like crap and tears are falling. I'm so sorry you are living alone, that is so much more stressful. Please take it easy and know that your sisters are here for you! Hugs
