I had my 2 week post op appointment and the doctor says I am doing great! She released me to go back to work part time as of next Monday. My employer is really concerned that its too early. I think a couple hours in the morning will be fine though. I sit at a desk and talk on the phone. Its just the drive to work that might be taxing for me. But I am excited to join the real world again.

I am having watery discharge also. No odor, but it has tinged itself from clear to a yellow/brown color. The doctor is not concerned. She said unless it has a bad odor or its really heavy then not to worry.

I am having those crummy days and good days too. Usually when I overdo it I know because I have that achy sore feeling in my abdomen for a few hours. I have also fully entered the realm of PMS. Sore achy breasts and emotions are going crazy... I seem to be crying at the drop of a hat today. Its nuts. But I keep thinking this isnt bad compared to the cramps and the pain and the actual period!!

Rest, rest, rest... that is what I keep telling myself. My DH gets upset with me when he sees me doing too much and he has been so wonderful. I need to get him a present for helping me out so much. He has taken care of the 3 kids, the house, the food, the shopping. Everything!

Day 3 of severe nausea and not being able to eat much in the way of food (sips of smoothie and tea). I'm losing more weight because of it and that isn't a good thing in my case. I don't know why this suddenly came on now at 2 weeks. I hope I'll be able to eat tomorrow because not eating Thanksgiving food would be a bummer.

((((CAmich)))) I felt nauseous the 1st day after my surgery and that was no fun at all. I assume you're letting your Dr know that you're not eating?? Can he recommend something that you can eat/drink that will have lots of vitamins and protein in---maybe like Carnation Instant Breakfast---to keep your nutrition up? Please let us know how it's going!

Lori, I know what you mean about your "gut" hurting. It's like every inch of it gets sore!

Well today has been a good day....putting the past days behind me and also looking forward to a better attendance record at work! I'm pretty sore right now but I've done more today so it is to be expected. Calling for snow here tomorrow and I know I won't be shovelling! Happy Thanksgiving to those of you celebrating....I"m in Canada so mine has passed. Can't say enough how much I love this site and the info exchange..its really helpful!

Katie...can you tell me more about the "imagery and music" preparations? I'm interested to know if this might have helped me.

TSH/BSO on 11/6

Hi everyone,

I had my TSH/BSO on 11/6 and so far I'm not really happy. Three days after surgery I got some type of stomach virus and I was throwing up for a day or so. So this definitely hindered my recovery. Then about 1 week out from surgery I started having pain, burning and some bleeding when I urinate. My doctor only says that it's normal and kind of fluffed me off. I still have a constant pressure and pain in my abdomin area and I'm still bleeding. Does anyone have any suggestions on what's happening. I go in for my post-op appt on 11/26. Thanks for eveyone support and help.
