Hi Lucky531, I too was diagnosed with diverticulitis during my surgery, it sucks but be sure to watch what you eat...no seeds, popcorn, corn, tomato seeds, they told me high fiber diet...most of my family has it, guess I was doomed from the start. Good luck.

I had a TLHBSO Nov 7th. Recovery is going ok. My rt ovary had grown into my abdominal wall, they had to dig to find it and remove it w/adhesions. OUCH! I was covered in Red Endo that looked like raw hamburger meat w/blisters. I felt better when I woke up I had a hard time going potty. I was constipated for a few days. Zofran is the miracle nausea drug, I had this preop and post op, I highly reccommend it. Constipation will cause extreme low back pain so a stool softener or laxative will fix that. The gas settled in my Rt shoulder, a neighbor told me to try GASX that helped that. I had an allergic reaction to the bandage adhesive, so my belly was RED and Itchy, steroid cream and calendula cream, and benadryl.
I am getting over a UTI now. I have consumed a pharmacy in the last month!
I am trying to detox now. Hopefully it is smooth sailing from here?

alot of pressure

Ok, We celebrated our Daughters 13th birthday today at Big Mama karaoke cafe. She had a blast we rented out the place and about 30 friends came.
I have been getting ready for this for about 3 days(not lifting anything over 20lbs) and I am really tired.
I feel like my inside are going to fall out. I have alot of pressure around my Vaginal area. :wow: I have been on my feet more that normal but no lifting.
Is this normal? I also have a cold and alot of coughing.
It have been 4 weeks tomorrow. I feel pretty good but I am still real tired most days. Doctor said that it will get better with time.
Hope all is well everybody else.

Recovery update

I had my surgery (TAH BSO) on November 7th. My DD stayed with me in the hospital for two nights. My DH has been a doll. I'm feeling good. I've been out to eat several times and to church twice. I am enjoying time around the house to read, call friends, catch up on paperwork, etc. Everything seems to be going smoothly and I plan to return to my office job (30 hrs/week) at the six week mark. My best friend in the early weeks was an abdominal binder. It made sleeping so much more comfortable.

Me neither! I'm very sore today and it's difficult walking about. My energy level has bottomed out and I didn't expect to still feel sore! I seem to have just a small amount of greenish discharge. How's everyone else doing?

Well, I went back to work today and put in my full eight hours and I am SO tired right now! For some reason, my back is really hurting today (maybe because I haven't napped like I was doing when I was at home?)

I was going to run by the grocery store on the way home but I think I'll do it some other time...I am just too tired today. Makes me wish I would've opted to take the full four weeks off of work instead of just three!

Yeah given the green light... ....went today for my follow up appointment. I am 4 weeks post op today.......he was very pleased with my insicion scar.....doc said wow now that's a good looking scar. Internally I am doing great and was told I can go back to my regular routine. I am just to take everything slowly and when it hurts......don't do it. Slow is the key. Unless something pops up I don't have to go back till my yearly visits........done with docs for a while.......YEAH.

Good day in Keedysville, MD 4 weeks post op from TAH.......Lori

just thought I could do it, but

it was too much. I thought that I was ready to go back to work part time. My plan was work in the morning and then come home and rest in the afternoon. But today I tried it and it was tooo much. I guess I'm just not ready yet.

I'm also noticing some disorientation - is anyone else noticing that. Like when I drive, it seems like everyone is going just too fast and I don't seem to process information as quickly as I used to meaning I'm not able to multi-task as well. Any one else?

Hugs, Karen
