Hi Guys,
I too am approaching my 6 weeks. I feel better but have pain in the a tummy. Although I had to have a CT Scan at 4 weeks which showed up I have a hemotoma . It should absorb back into the body , so I am going in again this Fri for another CT scan to see if it did. But yeah I am still tired in the morning too. I am going back to work Jan3rd. I have to learn to get my butt out of bed and get going. I think I will just start out pt though. Well I hope the best for every one and wish everyone a very Merry Christmas. Good luck to us all.

I had my check up with the Doctor yesterday. She said everything was fine including the vaginal cuff. I got the green light to resume all normal activities. I was almost giddy after the appointment. I don't think I was really nervous about it. I guess it was just a relief to have the doc confirm that I was healing well.

I went to work today. I was supposed to be there from 9-12 but stayed until 2 because I felt so good. I took a nap when I got home, not because I was tired but just to rest up. I don't want to overdo right before Christmas.

Good luck to all of you with appointments this week and next!

exercised today

Well I went to the gym today. I am proud of my self I walked 2 1/2 miles in 35 minutes. This was my first time since my surgery. I feel really good but have a little pulling down there and pressure. I know that I should not push myself but before my surgery I was running about 3 miles then walking up to three more. So I guess it will be a little while before I will be back to that. How is everyone else?

tdjeva,

Congrat's on going to the gym! Just give it time. Oh, doing fine myself except did something stupid. Little one wanted to go sledding, so we dicided to make snow angels instead (there is NO WAY I am going sledding yet) Snow angels are evil! after the third one, I needed help getting up! But I feel ok this morning. Just a bit sore. I had tons of fun! Hugs

I am right there with you. Lately, my lower back hurts a lot (especially in the evenings). And my energy level is VERY low still (not that it was that great to begin with).

I think I've gained weight too...I feel fatter and not just in my abdomen, where I KNOW I'm swollen...but my thighs too.....so that's kind of depressing. Of course, it could be because of the holidays and all the goodies flowing thru our office here at work!!!

The thing I think I like best about having this surgery done and over with is the fact that now, when I go to the restroom, I don't have to worry "Okay...am I STILL on my period?" Heck, I should've bought stock in tampons when I started having a period...I've spent a fortune on those suckers...about a box a week, it seems!

Back to Work I Go

Well, I got cleared to go back to work after my 6 week follow-up. I have worked a full week as of today. Every day I go home exhausted even though I just sit at the computer all day. I will have 4 straight days off with these holidays coming up, so I look forward to that. I had gotten to my stay-at-home routines and now I miss them. I plan to go back to the gym next week (I'm going to start early) and I plan to try to look like the new woman that I feel like I am now.

I wanted to thank all my sisters for your support and suggestions. I don't have a mom or sisters and it sure was nice to discuss what was going on with me with everyone else who was going thru the same thing.

I hope you all have Happy Holidays and remember to always treat yourself like a princess no matter what!!!

I went back to work after three weeks and I SO wish I would've taken at least four. These last couple weeks I've been here at work, my butt has seriously dragged.

Honestly, I got used to my "at home" routine too. I sure could get used to sleeping in and taking it easy, you know? That was niiiiiice!

It'll get better...I feel better every single day, it seems. This tiredness gets on my nerves but other than that, I'm glad it's over and done with.

Happy Holidays to all! Stay safe and warm!

I had my 6 week check up yesterday and all is going well. He had to put silver nitrate on my vaginal cuff and now I seem to have more discharge than before..yeccch. But he gave me the go ahead to start "doing things" again!
So today I am vacuuming....sucking up those dreaded dust bunnies that have been growing! I too am finding that I am very tired and a trip out to the crowded stores wears me right out. I start back to work on Jan. 2, 1/2 days to start for 2 weeks and then back to full time. Thanks to all my sisters out there who helped me through this! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Jo

Isn't funny how we all are excited to vacuum? I vacuumed the first floor of my house for the first time on Thursday and was so happy to get it done!

I started back to week Tuesday and worked half days through Thursday. On Thursday I felt great! I had more energy than before the surgery. (Maybe this is what it feels like to not be anemic - it's been so long I forgot). So I did a lot around the house.

Then yesterday I worked for 7 1/2 hours. It was a crazy day at work and by the time I came home I was wiped out. I started having twinges of pain in my abdomen. So I took a nap, asked my DH to make dinner and watched a movie in the evening. I slept well and feel much better today.

One good thing is I'm finally falling asleep fairly soon when I go to bed. I used to lie awake for at least an hour before sleeping.

Merry Christmas to all of you! May you all have a wonderful new year!
