My doctor gave me the ok to do things a few weeks ago. Yesterday was my six week checkup and I got the ok to go snowmobiling! Yeah. I also had to have the silver nitrate put on. Felt some cramping this morning, but nothing bad really. DH and I went out Christmas shopping this morning, now cleaning for the big day with all the family here. Merry Christmas to you all.

Is anyone else still having a discharge? I have had a very light, pale colored discharge for the past 5 weeks. My doctor recommended a vinegar and water douche last week. This week she prescribed metronidazole vaginal gel. My recovery has been perfect if I could just shake this last nagging issue.

Hello everyone, I had my partial on Nov 8th, came home on the 11th. I had diahrea the entire time I was home, my stomach was killing me. I threw up and fainted. I called the doctor's nurse to describe what was going on, she advised me to get the emergency room. This was the Friday the 15th, I had a bowel obstruction and needed another operation. I ended up staying in the hospital for a month, was just released last week tuesday on a full liguid diet. I have not had real food since Nov 7th, and have lost over 20 pounds. I go to see my doctors on the 26th and the 27th. My stomach hurts so much because of the 2 surgeries back to back.

Guild, I am happy to hear that you are home now and on the mend! I had a TAH on Nov. 8 as well and about 1 week after I suffered a bout of vomiting and diarrhea. My husband took me to the emerg. and they started an IV and did a cat scan and xrays. They didn't find any blockage but I have been nauseous ever since....so bad some days that I need Gravol. Also, my stool is green...not sure if that is connected but it's strange for me.
My abdomen is feeling better but still pretty sore.
Hope you have a Merry Christmas! and good health in 2008!

My stool was green the entire time. I was also throwing up green bowel. My stomach is so sore when I sit and than stand and I am really tired even walking around the house. I have been off work since Nov 8th, was due to go back on Jan 2nd, I don't think I will be ready.

The doctor said the xrays showed that I had a sluggish bowel and he was worried about an obstruction but I've been going normally every day except for the colour and the nausea of course. If it continues I will see my doctor.
Thanks for the feedback, take good care,
Jo

Please keep an eye on the situation, because I didn't get the bad news of the surgery until 2 days into the hospital the second time. I wish you nothing but my prayers of not having an obstruction.

Thanks,
Guild

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a great Christmas...

And hope you are all feeling as good as new.

I had my operation on November 7th. Things are going well. I do get a "twinge" now and again, but I guess that is to be expected.

I am currently on the generic Climara patch. Are any of you using a patch that is not the size of a dinner plate?

I was told the one I am using would "be the same", but the size of it is just crazy!

Hope this finds you all well and gearing up for a GREAT New Year!
