8 week post op bleeding - old blood

Hi Everyone,
I had a TAH/right BSO on 11.7.2007. I kept my cervix.
I'm feeling pretty good. I can pretty much do anything I want. Doing sit ups and push ups for the last 1-2 weeks has really helped strengthen my abdomen. (And by the way, I am not an exercise person to say the least!) I was getting sick of the swelly belly and decided I needed to act on it a bit more.
Because I kept my cervix, my doc told me I would get "mini periods." I started having this "mini period" 10 days ago and I still have it. It's very light, old blood type bleeding. No odor ~ I don't think I have an infection.
Just wondering if there are any thoughts you may have? I haven't done any exercises in the last couple of days and haven't seen any changes in the bleeding as of yet.
Thanks for the help ladies!!

Sorry you are still suffering, cidwolf. I wish I could wave a magic wand and make you feel better. I hope that you turn the corner soon. It is so hard when they tell you it just takes time. After weeks of feeling lousy, sometimes you just want an answer other than, it just takes time. Sending a your way.

At 8 weeks, I've started having hot flashes and night sweats again. Anyone else? These had stopped at 2 weeks postop, and then I was just freezing from weeks 3-7. Weird! I've also had the return of the nasty pulling pains down the side of the pelvis -- feels like the left ovary wants to explode. The nausea finally subsided, replaced by an uncontrollable urge to eat. Making up for lost time, I guess. I've got a follow-up appointment with my internist next week to get the results of some blood tests. I think he was right in that I was still anemic. I started adding a little iron supplement and feel less tired and less dizzy. I guess I'll find out next week. If I find out I'm still anemic, I'm tempted to have the internist send a letter to my OB/GYN letting him know his partner really dropped the ball.

No hot flashes for me (touch wood) or night sweats at 8 weeks. I am still nauseated a lot of the time...bad enough to use gravol sometimes. My tummy is still sore and find it bothers me when trying to wear dress pants...for work...I've gone down a size ..yayyy! but I wish I could wear track pants to work! CAmich..did you keep your ovaries? I've been lucky and only woke up once about 2 weeks post op with a wet bed.
Here's to continued healing! Jo

Just Checking in

Hey All,
I haven't been on the computer for a few weeks and was just checking in to see how everyone is doing. Recovery for me is going really well. I am finally starting to feel better than I did before the surgery. My body no longer aches all the time, except for my lower back. I had hoped it would go away after surgery, but apparently not (I think a breast reduction is in my future if the back pain persists). I also still have one stitch left. My Dr. explained at my 6 week check-up that she had used stronger thread for this stitch (to hold everything in its' proper position internally) and said it should disolve at 8 weeks. She also cleared me for ALL normal activities at 6 weeks, but that stitch is a bit wiry. I have resumed all housework but DH and I decided (reluctantly) to wait until the stitch was a bit softer before risking his ... um... er... eh... "own tissue" being scratched. 8 weeks is up so hopefully our wait is almost over. I can't wait to try out the new and improved me!
My brain is also finally catching up to all of this change. It was a lot for me to take in a relatively short period of time, but I now know that my decision was the best one for My circumstances.
I hope all of you continue to heal and feel better!!

Still sore after 9 weeks post op TAH

I'm 9 weeks post op from a TAH and wondering if anyone else is still experiencing pain. My tummy is hard in spots and sore to the touch and gets worse after a workout at Curves.
Is this normal this far along? I'm back at work and finding dress pants very uncomfortable.
Hope everyone else is doing well...Happy New Year.
