LavendeRose, I am so sorry you're having such a time. I don't think that you should be bleeding. I want to tell you about my Mom...not to scare you but to help you decide what to do. Two weeks ago my family gathered around my mother's bed to watch her take her last breath.....she died of colon cancer.
She had had a hysterectomy in her 40's for cancer, lung cancer operation in her 60's, and colon cancer operation 2 years ago...so she beat it many times before this bout took her at the age of 80. Months ago she complained of vaginal bleeding on and off...turns out after many trips to the doctor that a specialist found the tumour which had grown into the top of the vagina...hence the vaginal bleeding. Her family doctor told her about 1 week before she was diagnosed that she had a virus....a virus caused her to vomit for 1 1/2 months on a daily basis and lose 10 lbs!!!
Anyway, I feel this could have been avoided...yes my Mom lived a long life...but her family doctor didn't investigate her symptoms...it was an after hours doctor who sent her to emergency for 3 units of blood!
I really wanted to let you know about this so you will get yourself taken care of. As you know we lost our son suddenly in Afghanistan in Dec. and to watch my mom pass away over a period of 3 weeks...was as difficult as watching my son come off a plane in a flag draped casket.
At this point in my life...I don't know which way to turn....I'm empty inside...I've given everything I have ....so please get the help you need . It may be something simple....
Sending you big hugs and hope things improve for you.

LavendeRose, please don't give up on finding a doctor to help you. I know a little about how you feel about giving up on normal. I'm there now. I've already had 2 laparoscopies since the hysterectomy to fix "problems". Once those are fixed, it's just a matter of weeks before another problem starts. Here it is only 2 months after the last surgery, I'm back in terrible pain, and now the doctor is sending me for yet another CT because he thought he saw a hernia during the surgery (the CT done the week before the surgery didn't mention this area, so nothing was done about it during surgery). So, after all this, I'm ready to give up on being normal ever again, or at least beginning to consider that constant left-sided pain is my "normal." But, the bleeding that you are having does seem like something that should be further investigated. If you have the means, I think I would definitely go back to the doctor and hold him/her accountable -- you need some answers. This seems to be taking a large toll on your life, and they should understand that and want to try to make you feel better. Your health should be important to them! I'm really glad your family is doing well. That is good news.

jmary, you have had a difficult few months and I am really sorry for both of your losses. To lose your son and your mom so close together must be very difficult. I know you are hurting right now. You will be in my thoughts.

Re: Hysterectomy dates Nov 05-Nov 12,2007

I know two years! In some ways it seems an eternaty ago and in some ways just yesterday! I don't know what I would have done with out you ladies in those early days I'm tellin ya! I am still not where I would like to be health wise but I am also not where I started out so I guess that is a positive right? I am still dealing with vaginal bleeding (very frustrating) and abdominal pain but not anywhere to the same extent as prehyst. I just find myself wanting to feel sorry for myself because I don't feel "human" yet. I have to remind myself that NOW I can leave the house most days and I can actually participate in limmited activities. as before I was pretty much housebound! I still get worn out very quickly and the more I do the more I bleed and they don't seem to know why and my insurance will not pay to find out so... I am getting neew insurancw soon though so...
