Wow, you've been through a lot! I was supposed to have a cystocele repair as well but once he got in there said it wasn't necessary. So far I have to pee often but that is nothing compaired to your situation. Give yourself time to get that strength back. It will come and I hope you feel much better soon!

HI Ladies,'
I had a salingo-oopothomy (spelling) and a bladder tuck. It was done 1 week ago today. I had gas the first few days but, otherwise no problems. Today I am feeling great, a little bit of pull on the tummy but, otherwise feeling good. I am making a quilt and wanted to find out if it was ok to iron. My husband says no that the iron weighs over 5 lbs. I went to do a bit of shopping yesterday. It felt good to get out and walk. Just hope I am not overdoing it.

I have a question. I had a hysterectomy, saved my ovaries, on 11-5-07. Came home on 11-07-07. was doing ok and then i had been passing alot of gas and the past 2 days when I have a bowel movement, the pain in my abdomain is so so so bad that I break out in a VERY heavy sweat. then after I pass my bowels, Iam fine other than being wringing wet!! then the pressure builds back up again and the pain returns and so forth. Is this normal or is there something wrong ???

Cyndi, you may want to post that on the post-op board to give more people a chance to see it. My only answer is that I was in pain while going quite a bit the 1st few days, and now it is much, much better. Maybe post what you're eating and if you're taking anything to soften your stools. I eat a very high fiber diet. And if you are very concerned, of course you know you should call your Dr.

Hope you get to feeling better!

One week!

It totally blows my mind when I think that a week ago from today I was in the Castle hooked up to all sorts of tubes and wires.

I still get tired very easily, though. I'm now starting to spot a little bit- light brown spotting. I was hoping I wasn't going to bleed at all. Hopefully it's just a small spotting. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. I'll ask on the main board to see if this is typical.

I also am still getting some pains on the right side. I don't know what it's from... probably still recovery. I highly recommend the MiraLax stool softener. It works great!!

Hope everyone else is plodding along well.

Cidwolf,

I had terrible pains from not having a BM. My DH went to the drugstore late at night to buy me some meds. An angel who worked there knew just what I needed. She had experienced the same pain years ago. She recommended suppositories, Milk of Magnesia, castor oil, and stool softeners. I was in such pain when he returned that I took all of them.

After an extremely painful and sleepless night, I took another dose of all of the meds. I had a BM that was similiar to childbirth! I have hemroids, but they were the least of my concern at that time. I am now taking stool softeners in the morning and evening and am almost back to normal. I am hoping that this part is the worst of the surgery.

This message board has been greatly appreciated. I have learned so much from everyone.
