I, too had my TVH/TVTO done on the 14th. I am having alot of trouble sleeping and I wake up soaked in sweat! They left my ovaries so I am not sure if this is normal or not. I checked and I am not running a fever. I feel pretty good, just tired in the evenings. If I overdo it a little, my body usually lets me know. I just wasn't sure if the night sweats and insomnia was normal. Do you know? My post op check up is not until Tuesday.

TAH/BSO. Greetings, ladies. Energy up and down still. Worked at home couple hours this morning and now feel fatigued. Per doc's order, removed steri-strips in shower--bikini incision tender. Tylenol only for last 24 hours so I'm hoping my sleep will improve. Can't comment on night sweats because am post-menopausal for 2 years--couldn't predict whether BSO would result in surgical menopause. Apparently, not yet.
Continued to be challenged by more gas than typical.

Reading posts very helpful. Prayers for continued progress and resolution of difficulties. Rest well, my friends.

Hi Teecher... I had an A/P repair along with a TVH and ovaries removed. I would say that the pain is like an episiotomy during the birth of my boys. The witch hazel pads are very soothing and also using the cleansing bottle with warm water after using the bathroom helps. I am at the same place that you are in your recovery. I went to my Dr yesterday and she did an exam and a digital exam and said things looked good so I am happy. I am bored though.
I wish you continued progress and good luck heading back to work.

I have no external cuts at all! I think that it hurt a lot worse when I had my tubes tied! This has been really easy so far. I just wish I could sleep better and stop the night sweats. They did leave my ovaries so I don't think it could be a menopause thing.
Anyway, take care and I hope you continue to heal as well. Take it easy and take advantage of having the hubby pick up some slack...I know I am!!!

Went back to work on my 2 week date but I am doing really great with my recovery!!! I feel so fortunate to have recovered so well and fast. Seeing last Tuesday I was sitting on couch with 29 staples in my tummy YUCK!! still the vertical scar is not looking that great but as long as I am getting back to normal and the tumor was not cancer I can deal with anything so glad to have my life!! wishing everyone a speedy recovery!!

2 Weeks Post-op!!

Hi everyone! Haven't posted since right after my surgery. Had my 2 week post op Monday. My incision isn't healing the way it should but my doctor says that it's okay. I am cleared to drive now and not a moment too soon. I read that so many of you are going back to work already and I can't even begin to fathom that. I went in today just to drop off a report that I finished the weekend before and that completely exhausted me. My doctor said not to even think about it until after my 6 week checkup and her and I would discuss it then. I am glad everyone had a great holiday and I know we all can't wait until Christmas and New Years. I am so looking forward to the shopping but I know it will wipe me out. Talk to you all later and am keep up the great progress!! Oh by the way is anyone else going crazy??

To those dealing with night sweats, hot flashes and insomnia....my dr said the surgery could shock the ovaries into stopping - temporarily or permanently. That played a part in my decision to have them removed. I hope it all gets under control soon for you all.

Hi ladies,

I had my post op visit last wk just before Thanksgiving. Everything is looking good. I have some bruising still but it's now a nice shade of yellow instead of the yellow green it was before. I no longer have the nausea thankfully. I have one area that is taking longer to heal.

Had a few issues with Thanksgiving but that was due to some family issues (plans cancelled, stepMIL didn't even bother to ask how I was feeling, made me sit on the sofa and bend over to eat which was not comfortable, and a few other things). Guess I should know better after this many years but I still think she'll change....realized that's never going to happen. I don't really know why she comes around since she never gave a darn about any of us when FIL was alive. But that's a whole other thread in itself.
