"I'm very grateful for all the information and support I've gotten from Hystersisters".

I'm so grateful too. This place has been my lifeline. I go back to "normal" life tomorrow. Waaaa.......Luckily I work 6 hours per day though. Hopefully time will fly by

My nerves are so edgy. I feel so irritable. Can't concentrate to get the cleaning and other last minute things done before we have company for a week. I hope my disposition will get better soon. I had a TAH on Nov. 12th with ovaries removed.

5 weeks post op

I had my post op visit last week and everything went great. I am cleared and do not have to go back for one year. My incision is still numb in certain parts but she said I may not get the sensation back. I gained 1lb. Didn't think I had lost any from the way I have been munching but I can tell I have lost inches. I can now go to the gym and run on the treadmill. My patch is working great, no hot flashes since the 2 minor one's 2nd week post op. I thought about not taking them to see how my body will react but now I am thinkin, why mess up a good thing. I am going back to work on 12/27. I sit down all day and can move around as needed if getting sore but I thought going back and working 2 days is better than working 5. I am ready to go back. I went to our department holiday breakfast and could not believe the gifts on my desk. It brought my spirits up and that was when I noticed I was getting a tad bit depressed. I have started back to writing in my journal hoping to catch the depressing moments. I hope everyone can take it easy and enjoy the holidays. Wishing everyone a good recovery and a safe holiday.

Soul2-you have permission to run? At my 4 wk post op I ask about exercise and was told walking only for 6 more weeks. No other exercise.
I am 6 wks tomorrow and am very aware that the surgeon said I had 6 wks worth of hormones in store. I am not feeling so smart about my scheduling when you put yourself with all the in laws and out laws just as the hormones run out. I am doing homopathic and it is working. Tomorrow will be the test. Thank goodness one sister in law has been kicked to the curb, could not had handled her at all. Merry Christmas everyone.

Kasey2, yes I can run. I was going thru the steps getting ready to run a marathon and was running, or atleast trying to run thru the pain almost everyday. I think if I was not already running she would not have let me so soon. I have been going almost every morning walking without any pain. I have heard about the stored hormones but have neve asked my doctor about it. With husband, kids and the type job I have, I didn't want to take any chances. Do what I used to do with the family on holidays. When it got to much for me, I would put myself in time out. I would just excuse myself, grab my book and go to a quite corner. Rude? My DH said he would rather I remove myself than have to pay bail.....Merry Christmas everyone!!!!!!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!

I've been working from home for the last 2.5 weeks...but tomorrow is my first day actually back at the office. I'm having a little anxiety about that. On the bright side, it's only a 3-day week! Yay!

Best wishes to everyone as we reach the New Year and as we get back to 'normal' (work, etc.).

I appreciate this site.
