I want to wish every seasons greetings. I am feeling pretty good these days. I am glad to see that so many of us are feeling more ourselves these days. I go back to work next Wednesday. I will not be full time though. I am cutting my hours back to 30 to 35 hours a week. I am an independent contractor at my office so I can set my own hours. I will be working and taking 15 credit hours for my last semester at Eastern Illinois University. I just don't have it in me to be full time. Here's to everyone's successful recovery.

Hi roserita.
I went back Monday. I had my surgery on the 12th too. My job is very physical. I was afraid to go back at 6 weeks post-op and I thought I'd be dyin' but I'm actually doing okay. I feel so much better than I did for a few months before my surgery. I was much more tired at work before. I felt pretty darn good today. My back is sore, but I expected that.

Today was my first day full-time. It's nice to have a quiet week for that. I was going in half time for the past week and a half. I actually liked being back in the office and getting out of the house.

I had my doctor's appointment last week. I just have a couple stitches left, apparently I'm feeling fine, and I'm anxious to get back to normal again.

I just got back from my 6 week check up after my TLH on 11/15/07. I asked to go in to see my surgeon because I had a large knotted stitch hanging out of me, and had been experiencing a watery yellow discharge (no odor) for the last 3 weeks or so. She performed a pelvic exam, which was a bit uncomfortable, and discovered that the top of the vaginal cuff was not healing properly, and that the stitches, were gone. Apparently, I had absorbed them prematurely. She gave me a prescription for a vaginal antibiotic cream, and wants to see me again in 7 days. Has anyone had this experience? What was the treatment and outcome? Thanks for your advice.

Had my surgery on November 19th

Hi everyone, I am 29 years old and had a Vaginally assisted partial hysterectomy and Vaginal Sling for my bladder. The sugery lasted about 3 hours.

When I woke I was hooked up to a Demerol pump , IV, catheter. I went up to my room about 2 1/2 hours later because they forgot that my room was ready. I ended up staying 2 nights and they took the catheter out on the 3rd day.

I went home later that afternoon and didn't feel that great. The night got worse when I had difficulty urinating and then got the chills and a temperature (dry heaving). We called the doctor who told me to stop taking the narcotics and he called me in a RX for urinary infection. The next day and night were even worse. Finally on Saturday, we went to the ER.

At the ER, they started and IV....ordered an X-ray and a CT Scan. My liver functions were elevated and when my CT results came back, I was in for shocking news (tumors on my liver and kidney stones) GOOD THING IT WASN'T MY CT SCAN. The ER made a mistake, read the wrong one to me, and my doctors that performed my surgery (one of my docs even left his home to come and comfort me from the shocking news). The other mistake they made was NOT calling the docs to tell them about the mistake. It was an embarassing night for the ER that night.

So...it ended up being an infection in my belly where my uterus was. I was given 3 different antibiotics and admitted for another night for observation. Everything was fine until they noticed a lump in my leg that they thought was a blood clot. Off to the ultrasound room I went. They didn't find anything...luckily. But, I was ordered to bed rest just in case. And released the next day.

Then 2 weeks later, I went for a check-up. Thank goodness, because I started to bleed again. Turned out my moms new dog popped my internal stitches (she jumped on my stomach a few times when my mom came to visit). It was from then on, that my doctor told me to tell my mom to LEAVE HER DOG AT HOME!!!

NOW I AM HAPPY TO SAY THINGS ARE GOING WELL. I have had 2 check up appointments and have another scheduled for the 2nd of January. I am having some pain on my right side. We will be checking that out with an ultrasound on the 2nd. Then I will hopefully get the green light to return to work.

Thanks for listening to my story.

Suzanne

Went for my 6 week post-op check up today. They found some tissue, so she had to put in some silver nitrate (hope I got this right). Talk about a warm situation. Thank God it didn't hurt. But I have to wait another week before any type of intimacy with the DH can occur. I am grateful that everything seems to be healing properly. Sorry Zuzanne (((((hug))))).

I start work on Monday. Mind you, I haven't worked in over a year. So, Monday should be pretty interesting to say the least. Take care of yourselves ladies.
