Any herbal supplements help you?

I'm nervous that I'm going to be a hormonal ***** after my surgery. After my last childbirth I had severe depression. Any of you tried Black Cohosh, Dong Quai, Maca root.... etc. I forgot to ask my Dr. If I will be put on a HRT (just having uterus removed) Do you think I will? I still am on anti depressant, but terrified it will get worse

Re: Any herbal supplements help you?

If you aren't having your ovaries removed, your Dr wouldn't automatically put you on HRT. If your ovaries don't function as well for a while HRT might help if you don't go back to normal soon, but you may see no difference. Keep in touch with your Dr if your depression gets worse, but it may be just fine. Your ovaries might just continue without change, so it's not a sure thing that you would have problems from having surgery. I do understand the fear of depression getting worse. If you do head in that direction let your Dr know. Best wishes that it all goes well for you.
