Need help finding new doctor(s)
I had my hysterectomy 26 days ago. My main problems were endometriosis and adenomyosis. No complications, and it appears I'm healing normally. My gynecologist who works closely with my surgeon has started my HRT, and it's helping though I know there's some tweaking to do. At the end of February, I will be moving across the country, to Oregon specifically. DH will not be joining me for a couple months.
How do I find a new gynecologist in a state where I do not know anybody? Should I seek an endo specialist? A HRT specialist? I also want to be able to see this new doctor relatively soon after I move, so I'm thinking I should set up an appointment soon. I know hormone tweaking can take quite a while in some instances.
I looked under the doctors tab on this site and saw one doctor recommended in Oregon. She is located a little over an hour from where I will be moving. I know I shouldn't sacrifice quality for convenience, but I would like to find a doctor who is a little closer. I will also need a new GP. None of my current doctors knows anyone to recommend.
Any thoughts and/or suggestions are welcome.

If you're moving to Southern Oregon, I can tell you about a few of the local providers in the Medford/Grants Pass area

Re: Need help finding new doctor(s)
Thanks so much for the offer! I will be moving to Eugene, near the University of Oregon. If you know of a good doctor near that area, please let me know.

The medical communities in Portland, Eugene and Medford are all pretty deep pools - try "Find a Doctor. com" to read reviews and see who's who

Re: Need help finding new doctor(s)
You might also ask all your current Drs for recs, if they have any. They may or may not know of anyone but it could be helpful if they do. I'd look for someone for HRT who knows endo, since endo HRT is different. Good luck.

We've moved your thread to the Oregon Neighborhood forum where, hopefully, more local sisters will see it and reply.
If you've not discovered the following site already, you may wish to check out Suggest A Doctor where many of our members have recommended their doctors and earned a profile badge by doing so.
Just a reminder for those replying ~ any recommendations will need to be fowarded by private message or email since the naming of doctors, on the boards, is not allowed per the website guidelines.
We're sending best wishes!
