Dose Too High?

After my surgery, the hospital applied an HRT patch (brand & dose unknown). After that I was depressed for a week and cried for several days. On the 7th day I removed the patch and applied one that my surgeon prescribed - Vivelle 0.05.

Those earlier symptoms went away, but were replaced by a few mild hot flashes and some pretty bad night sweats. I just had my 2-week post-op check, and reported these new symptoms. My surgeon gave me a new Rx for the higher dose patch - I believe 0.1 - which I am to begin using today.

Problem is, the only symptom I've had for two days is a constant, slight headache. Is this headache a symptom of menopause? If so, should I go ahead with the higher dose?

I don't want to go to the higher dose if this lower dose actually is now enough. If I were to switch to the higher dose, what are the symptoms or "overdose" that I should watch for?
