2 weeks post op and passed out
I'm 2 weeks post op and pased out in bathroom last night hit head on shower and had to go to emergency room. Has anyone else still had dizziness two weeks out?
I walk daily and haven't had pain meds in 3 or 4 days and then only at night. How long have others experienced dizziness. My tah was 2-22-12. Blood pressure was borderline low but that was all they found wrong after CAT scan, EKG, & blood work.

Re: 2 weeks post op and passed out
I had lightheadedness and saw stars with heavinesss in the legs. Did not pass out, but got on the bed real fast, and put circulation stockings on that I got in the hospital. Kept my legs elevated on pillows. Sometimes feel a tad lightheaded. I do not know for sure, but maybe poor circulation. Will ask doc at Tuesday appt.

Re: 2 weeks post op and passed out
I dealt with being lightheaded, dizzy, and blacking out for several weeks following my hysterectomy. Some of it was attributed to anemia, some to low blood sugar I didn't know I had, some to dehydration, some... To be honest, they never really totally figured it all out. However, I had to watch taking a hot shower as it spiked my high pulse (something else they couldn't figure out), and increased my already high blood pressure (which they also didn't figure out).
Try to be careful and touch base with your surgeon. For my own safety, mine ordered me to have adult supervision at all times to make sure I didn't hurt myself and I was not allowed to drive. I ended up seeing both a cardiologist and neurologist to make sure the problem wasn't something we were unaware of.

Re: 2 weeks post op and passed out
Thanks for input. I also have seen stars when in the hot shower. Bent down to pick up shampoo bottle, and coming up saw stars. I am on high blood pressure medicine, and at times suffer from low blood sugar. I will mentioned it to doctor in a few days. I was afraid of throwing a clot. For now, I am just so tired from doing nothing. Almost 5 weeks post op, and I just can't get going like I was prior to surgery. When does tiredness end?

Re: 2 weeks post op and passed out
I too get lightheaded and feel 'off balance'. I asked my dr about it at my Post Op appt a week ago and was told he didn't think that I was anemic because I had very little blood loss.
It's scary to feel this way - i have days where I feel fine then BOOM..I'm light headed, feel off balance (even after I eat)...Its worse when I'm feeling exhausted but can have the light headiness even on days when I'm high energy feel great days. I drink a good volume of water each day..about 50-60oz of water so can't be dehydrated. But it's an awful feeling -

Re: 2 weeks post op and passed out
Jersey girl - I also take medication for high blood pressure, in addition to other meds associated with it and the side effects include dizziness. I still get light headed and dizzy - I would check with your doc - my meds had to be tweaked after my surgery because my blood pressure dropped so severely during my surgery and has stayed that way until recently.
