Hello, here is what helped me prepare for surgery (8/25/20):
- Use a small basket to keep pain meds, post op instructions, Gas-X extra strength pills, colace, cell phone, charger, paper & pen, keep track of date/time/pain meds, lip balm, hand cream, etc.
-pick up belly binder
-pick up post op undies (similar to hystersisters shop, or Amazon). I bought (6) and they wash well.
- front-close no wire lightweight racerback bra. Comfortable support.
- oversized pajamas, tank tops, non-binding shorts, night shirts. I used flip-flops for slippers (summer here in New England).
- I cleaned my bedroom, bathroom and shower, clean towels. Clean bed sheets and gather pillow(s) to aid in sleep/napping.
- Make a list of light foods you may want to eat when you're up for it. Helpful for caregiver. My appetite is very low. Pick up foods prior to surgery.
- Large cup with long straw for water to keep you hydrated, apple juice to mix with Mirilax, ginger ale.
- Multiple sized ice packs, large and medium helped me.
- I kept all necessary toiletries on bathroom counter to avoid having to bend/reach after each shower.
-Pick up sanitary pads, panty liners and baby wipes. Keep near bathroom toilet. Baby wipes helped after each BM.
