Da Vinci for Cystocele and Partial Hysterectomy??

I'm scheduled for a partial hysterectomy and cystocele repair on Oct. 25. I'm petrified. Has anyone out there had both of these done via DaVinci??? Will there be vaginal bleeding? Stitches? I have a pre-op appt. two weeks from now and will ask these questions but I'm hoping someone out there already knows these answers. I having a "Y" shape mesh put in also. I am losing my uterus and a portion of my cervix and the cystocele repair. Is it really only overnight in the hospital? What are the chances I will go home with a catheter? Thanks for whatever anyone call tell me!

Sunshine -

Sorry that you are petrified but remember those moments well.

I can only answer some of your questions because I did not have a cystocele repair.

Will you have stitches? Most probably. External where the laproscopic incisions are might be closed with stitches or glue. Internally for the repair you will have stitches.

Will there be vaginal bleeding? I had light bleeding. I popped a stich around 4 weeks and had a little heavier darker bleeding but a mini-pad handled it.

Is it really only overnight? Yes, most laproscopice surgeries are only overnight unless Dr. feels you need to stay longer for some reason.

Catheter? Can't answer that one, I don't know if you always go home with a catheter if you have a cystocele repair so either someone else will have to answer or a definite question for your Dr.

I hope this helped.
