to everyone,

I have just cooked dinner for my DS and me (DH is at work tonight) so I thought I would just check in with my "sisters". I see we have some Newbies - a huge hello to everyone waiting with us.

My cover at work arrived today so she will be shadowing me all week and up until next Wednesday. Oh my, it's not that long to go now!

BadlyBent - going back to your comment about nausea - yes I am now convinced that all my symptoms are related to adeno but I guess I will find out after the 24th.

BraveFront46 - please let us know how your friend gets on.

Freezy - how is work going? Not too stressful I hope!

ShellBear - enjoy dinner!

to everyone for now

Tracy and everyone,
My friend is okay. The doctor gave her some medicine to stop the bleeding and she has to take it extra easy. She really needs to be joining us, but unfortanately she is overweight and the doctor says it is too high risk for her right now. Her sister is visiting tomorrow and we were all going to do fun stuff this week, snorkeling and going to the zoo. My friend is really bummed that she can't do what she wanted to with her sister, but other than that she is hanging in there. I don't know if I could face this thing if it weren't for her. I just moved here in September not knowing anyone, and this wonderful gal comes into my life and we are so close now. She is the one who is co-oridinating my post-op care. If anyone wants to bring meals or whatever they are to call her. She has offered to walk my dogs. She is a nurse and promises that she will keep an eye on my scar that nothing gets infected. She is just a wonderful friend.

Hey Wendy,

It makes it feel close when your cover arrives doesn't it?

Work is going great for me. I absolutley love my job. I work with a group of 30 fabulous guys who take great care of me. We laugh lots. The shifts are really hard on my body but other than that it's the perfect job. I work two 12 hour days immediately followed by two 12 hour nights and then four days off to pull myself together to do it again ... LOL

Big hello and hugs to all my other sisters!

Freezy - I'm so pleased you love your job. It is great when you enjoy what you do - I know I feel that way. I have a super job and I love the company that I work for. I have recently been doing some work for one of our Principals in Gainesville and I had to tell him today that from Thursday next week I wouldn't be around for 6 weeks. He said to me "don't think about work...just concentrate on getting well." I said that would be hard so he followed up with "if you do think of work then think of your friends and not the deadlines". I was really touched by this.

I'm a little worried at the moment - my DS has a cold, people at work have them and now....I have a sore throat I am taking immune boosters and drinking hot lemon and honey. My pre-op is Thursday - OMG! Positive thoughts though!

Take care everyone,

Hey Wendy,

I hear you. I am sneezing as we speak. When is your last day at work? Is your bag packed? Have you ever tried Cold FX? My hubby swears by them. What recovery arrangements do you have. Are you staying in bed for several days etc?

BadlyBent ~ Where are you? How you doing?

I finally spent a couple minutes with my DH

My hubby works at a power plant and they are on an outage. They work 10 hours a day 7 days a week for 45 days in a row. He works 8pm-6am.Well tonight he got to go in a little later and we went out to dinner and shopping! It was so nice to spend a little time with him.
So how are all of you girls doing?
I go to the castle 4 weeks from today.
No big plans this week....just going to the zoo on Friday with my friends.
Take care girls.
