TVH 24hr stay

My insurance only approved me for a 24 hour stay. I called and protested and they told me that was a standard approval. The insurance did say if I needed a second night that the hospital and Doctor would contact them and I would be approved for a second night. I did stay 2 nights and had no problem getting the second nights approval. My procedure was a LAVH with A&P repairs and a Supra-pubic catheter.

TVH 24hr stay

I had a LAVH/BSO and my doctor told me that I would be inpatient for approximately 24 hours, but then I got a hematoma so it turned into about 60 hours. Believe me you will be more than ready to go home.

TVH 24hr stay

I had TVH with a total hospital stay of 22 hours. I was definately ready for my own bed. I just wish I could've taken the morphine pump home with me. :-)

TVH 24hr stay

24 hours sounds about right. If you are not feeling up to going home yet, tell your dr. Most drs. will be able to make it "medically necessary" for you to stay and insurance should then cover it. Good luck!

I was only approved for one day but DR said I could stay if I needed to. I was not ready the next day and he got the approval with no trouble for the extra night. About 6 the sencond night I wished I had gone home. I thought you would get the IV meds longer but they take them away. I did get some ativan and slept like log from 11pm till 830 am the last night. That was nice.

One tip....I read somewhere to take tube socks and cut them and put them on your elbows.....great idea. The sheets are soooo rough and you use your elbows alot to scoot around and mine were so raw when I got home. WIsh I had taken some! I will be thinking of you all and hoping for a quick recovery!
