Pre-Op Hysterectomy: Open House Chat Thread - Today Jan 23, 2022

Hi I’m Kerin! I’m scheduled for an abdominal hysterectomy on Friday. I’m 48. My uterus is measuring 5-6months and I have two large fibroids: 10cm and 7cm. I’m having tubes, ovaries, and cervix removed as well and starting HRT in the hospital before I leave. My mom had dermoid ovarian cysts so it just seems best to remove everything and not have lingering worries. Can. Not. Wait.

That is great that you are starting HRT right away. Many sisters start a symptoms journal esp when beginning HRT, also useful for recovery symptoms. If you need to adjust HRT dosage as you go along, having info you can access and share with your doctor is a great tool.
