pre-op hysterectomy

Hi Cyndi! When I showered after surgery, I was just careful not to let the spray directly on the incision and after 7 days, I had the staples taken out and I was still careful about the spray just because it stung a little around the incision. But you can get the steri strips wet that they put on when the take the staples out. Just be careful to wash around it with mild soap. In the hospital, the nurses put a plastic glove over my IV in my hand so as not to get that wet.

Only 2 days...I'm sooo excited for you! s!!!

Not silly questions at all!

I had nothing covering my staples after a few hours. There was tape over the staples at first, but a resident removed that the morning after my surgery. As for showering, they tell you not to let the water hit the staples directly for a few days. so you do have to be sort of careful.

Gosh, it's tomorrow for you, right? Best of luck to you. Please be sure to stop by and let us know how you are doing when you get home. I'll keep you in my prayers.
