Re: are you really that tired after????
No, not all of us get tired. At about 5 or 6 weeks, when I went shopping, I'd have to sit down now and then, to rest. But I didn't feel generally tired or exhausted.

Re: are you really that tired after????
I am 9 weeks post op and I still hit a wall of exhaustion every now and then. I often have a nana nap in the afternoon and I am not a lazy person.

Re: are you really that tired after????
I think everyone heals differently so I can only talk for myself. I'm usually a fairly fit 40 year old and I'm nearly 4 weeks out. I'm lucky enough to have had a pretty good recovery without complications. I've followed my doctors instructions to the letter and have listened to my body. For the first two weeks I lay down most of the day and had short regular walks. Thats it! Yes i was bored but i read all the books id been wanting to read and caught up on all the movies id wanted to see. I believe that complete rest for two weeks helped me recover well. After my check up at two weeks I started to walk a bit longer and quicker gradually. I have done not one bit of house work as instructed by my dr due but I've been lucky with support. If I feel tired I have a nap. Today I did my first walk for 45 mins and have been out to lunch and did a bit of shopping. Came home and lay down for a bit and I feel pretty good. I know the recovery process is far from over but I guess so far so good and I would not describe my state as being totally exhausted all the time. Here's hoping that your recovery is a smooth and speedy one. Good luck to you.

Re: are you really that tired after????
The first few weeks everything exhausted me but it does get better. Listen to your body I have more energy this week than i did last week but I am still not back to normal. Time is definitely a healer x

Re: are you really that tired after????
My energy came back at my 23rd day post op, then I had to be back at work on the 28th day and that set me back to feeling tired for a week.

Re: are you really that tired after????
I'm 10 weeks out and still get days when all I can do is sleep. I had A&P repairs too though and this was my third surgery in a short time so perhaps that doesn't help. I'm usually one for being on the go all the time, there is no way I could be back to all my normal activities yet!

Re: are you really that tired after????
I don't no why, but I was not unusually tired, didn't need to nap, and I'm almost 50. I walk, but don't work out regularly either. I think I was on an adrenalin high! Everyone is different, just listen to your body.

Re: are you really that tired after????
First few weeks I was exhausted. Now, at six weeks, I have energy burst a lot of the time. Exhaustion sets in if I try to go shopping or work but a quick nap can take care of that. Every day it gets better.
