A vaginal cuff is simply the top of the vagina sewn together. If you think of the toe of a tube sock, it is basically the same thing. If you keep your cervix, the sewing happens on the other side of the cervix where the uterus was removed. If you keep your cervix, it is a little less invasive surgery because the bladder does not have to be dissected off of the cervix and there are less ligaments that end up being cut. Either way, many ladies have been very satisfied with either keeping or taking the cervix. It is a decision that you need to make before hand and be settled with.
