I'm new, and need advice

I entered this post in the introduction boards not realizing I was in the worng place. Sorry

Hi,
I have spent the last few hours desperatly trying to find a chat board where someone might be bale to help me clam my fears. Here is my situation

I am 20 years old (only a baby, I know), I just got married in June. For the past 6 months I have had constant recurring ovarian cysts. They have generally all been about 1 1/2 inches in size. 4 have ruptured (one on my honeymoon) the others have just faded away. I have been on Birth control pills this whole time, and before, and my doctor even switched me to a higher dose, but nothing is helping. I am in sooo much pain. I tis bad enough just having them with the constant throbbing, but it is even worse during sex, and even worse when they rupture. I have been repetedly told that there is nothing they can do except give me pain meds. Pain meds do nothing. I finally saw a better doctor who was more hepful and got me in to a specialist. I don't know what to think. I feel like I am way to young to be having these problems and I am so afraid that something is really wrong with me. I am afraid I wont be able to have children with my husband. I am afraid one of the cysts could turn cancerous. I am just afraid. Can anyone help me? I would greatly appreciate any advice.

Congratulations on your wedding!
I have no experience with multi cycts or what you are refering to but I wanted you to know that we all care and by seeing a speciaist is the best thing for you! Listen to the Doc. They know so much! Ask lots of questions. If you are not confident with that Doc than go to another! Read and read some more! Let us know how things go! You are not alone!

Oh bless your heart I know what those feel like!!!

There are lots and lots of things that can be done nowadays to help these cyst problems without having to resort to a hysterectomy. Seeing a reproductive specialist is the single most important thing for you to do right now. Please keep up on the followthrough with the specialist, and don't delay. I suffered my first ruptured cyst when I was 14, and I think that cyst is the one that eventually got to be the size of a canteloupe before I had my hystie back in April. Oh man can I empathize, cuz that first one was just one of many I did not take my own advice, cuz I was clueless. If only I'd had a place like this back then, I bet life could have gone rather easier for me at least in this area.

It is NOT true that the only thing that can be done is pain meds. NOT TRUE AT ALL. Please don't let any doc fob you off with that, okay? Also, please don't suffer for years out of fear of infertility. Be aggressive in pursuing treatment through specialists in this field. Educate yourself as much as possible, and continue what you're doing here, seeking support from others who've been there. It makes a HUGE difference.
