Have you had ureteral reconstruction? Boari?

Hello, after having daily pain from a hysterectomy in 2018 my gynaecologist and urologists thinks the next step is ureteral reconstruction with boari flap. I’ve had one surgery in 2019 where they found scar tissue around the ureter and realised I had an ovarian remnant but could not find it in the surgery. I’ve had one episode of hydronephrosis but mainly pain at top of vagina that emanates out to right abdomen if I stand or sit longer than 45 minutes.
The problem is they use a lot of strong language such as “extremely complex” when describing the surgery. I’m in daily pain and finding it very hard to work so I don’t feel like I have a choice but I’m scared that maybe now is the best case scenario and having more surgery will make it worse.
Has anyone had this op and how was your outcome? Much gratitude!

It is a tough one. My best friend had to have uretal surgery after her hysterectomy. She had a Stent in place for several weeks while it healed and had some difficulty with voiding so the Stent went back in for a while longer. She is doing great now.

Thank you! That’s encouraging. After such a long endo haul I want to believe there is health and painless ness at the end of the tunnel.
It seems like it’s quite unusual procedure. I’m just out of the hospital from the ureteral implant and feeling sore but hopeful.
Thank you x
